    Undersealing

rather than underseal I would use Dinitrol or Bilt Hamber underbody coatings, you could probably do this DIY. Although the Clio is well protected underneath another coating of wax would not hurt for longevity. I noticed when I last cleaned mine there was a lot of crap in the edge of the...

    Low mileage T

What mileage are you looking for? Mine is a 56K and I am considering selling, it is not mint but will be priced accordingly.

    Life after Sachs??

I am thinking more towards mid-range coilovers as well, keeping the Sachs if you ever want to go back to standard, it would be interesting to see if the alternative company being looked at in the Sachs thread is an option, if it was then I would get mine refurbished.

    How much would you pay?

It does look good value, I think they all have chips on the bonnet etc, mine has done 56k and I dont think it has seen the track and has a few stone chips and has some small chips on the rear arches. I was thinking about selling mine, looking at that price I may keep it as I would like to get...

    Life after Sachs??

Just read your post, they look a good option, it looks like they are around £900ish for the kit? I think the Spax kit is around £700 although some say don't touch Spax, others say they are good.

    Life after Sachs??

I guess if they will repair a damper that has failed early than expected after a refurb that is a good thing, the only issue I have with that is there will probably be an associated cost of taking the dampers off and refitting and getting them there not to mention the time that the car is off...

    Life after Sachs??

Maybe a re-think is in order, maybe coilovers could be an option. It would be nice to refresh all 4 corners for the same price as a Sachs rebuild.

    Life after Sachs??

Just checking the Larkspeed site to price up some Koni shocks, for a set of 4 sport adjustable which can be changed on car plus a set of new Eibach pro spring kit comes in at £612 inc vat and delivery. The Konis come with a lifetime warranty with Larkspeed. This could be my next purchase, it...

    Life after Sachs??

I don't think I will keep mine forever, although a complete set of dampers and coilovers should last for a long time, but I guess most buyers will want the Sachs fitted so it may affect my resale value, even if I sell the Sachs with the car.

    Life after Sachs??

I have brand new PS3s on mine, it seems to handle OK to me, although I feel that one of my shocks needs doing. For the money I can see that coilovers or similar effectively upgrades all 4 corners rather than just the fronts. My rear shocks are probably original so after 7 yrs and 56k miles maybe...

    Life after Sachs??

Following on from some other topics and comments regarding Sachs and rebuilds, has anyone changed the Sachs for something else, if so what are the options? I know the Sachs are the selling point of the Trophy, but as there is a lack of new stock and the refurbs do not seem to last I am...

    Wax recommendation

I use the Dodo Juice hard wax (banana I think, it is a yellow wax) and it is pretty good on the Clio. It will last for ages if you get the larger pot. I bought mine from Rubbish Boys website along with the applicators etc, good service from them.

    Standard 182 Exhaust

Sent a PM, I have one that the previous owner bought as a spare but never fitted.

    New battery advice

I struggled to get a direct match for the battery, the bigger Ah batteries were bigger in size so were a struggle to fit. I decided for the same price as Eurocarparts etc I went with the Motrial battery from Renault which had the 3yr warranty. Wests fitted it for free, I think it was around £65...

    last time you saw one?

I have never seen another one on the road and I have done a few miles recently all over the country. I did meet up with a mate that also has a Trophy last month for some photos and to compare the two cars. It does seem like there are quite a few for sale so maybe less are out there being used!

Touch up paint for the T

I just had an aerosol can mixed up at a local motor factors, the paint code (727 from memory) is on the sticker in the door shut where the VIN is. Although not the cheapest option at £13ish, I prefer it than a touch up stick as you can spray the paint into the lid and it is much thinner and...

Costco 20% tyre offer is on!

That is a good deal, when I bought mine a couple of months back Costco were more expensive than ATS!

    rear spoiler removal...

I would leave it, the plastic clips could break, if they do it can be a nightmare to fix them back into the spoiler. There is a thin foam strip stuck to the glass where the spoiler rests, this will also probably be a pain to put back right as it tends to come unstuck when the spoiler moves. I...

Need 4 New Tyres - Decisions Decisions!!

I have just put a full set of PS3s on, as a new owner I thought I would stick with Michelin. The previous owner got 15k miles out of the previous front PS3s. I want with the standard load tyre. They seem good, the grip is very good, although my benchmark is only with the worn tyres already on...

New owner, loving my Trophy already!

Hi all, just to introduce myself, I have just bought 449 and loving it already! I signed up to get more info before buying, the forum is great to find out about the potential issues and fixes. The Clio is a 2nd car for fun, there are a few minor jobs to do, four new PS3s are going on...
