I had a similar problem. When I rocked the car, there was greater movement from the front near side and when going over some bumps, there would be a sort of clonk sound from the near side front. Turned out the that the damper was faulty/worn and the reservoir was covered in oily dust...
According to the Renault brochure (on a CDROM that came with the manuals, log book etc.) the differences are with the standard setup, ie non CUP. The only difference (bar the dampers!) being the 10mm lower at the front due to shorter springs, hubs and geometry is the same according the gumph...
I've been digging around trying to find these elusive settings and based on the following threads and baring in mind that the Trophy setup is based on the 182 CUP, I guess these are the "official" geometry settings: out
Front
Camber Negative -0.45' +/- 30'
Toe-out 0.12' +/- 0.5'
Rear...
Finally got my Trophy back, couldn't keep the old damper due to warranty reasons. Also got a new top mount for the new damper since the old one was "shattered"?!! The car feels even tauter than before and there is absolutely no slack in the handling. The damper must have been on its...
I'm global desktop architect, application packager and infrastructure support in the financial services sector of a biggish reinsurance firm. Its boring but it pays the mortgage!
UPDATE:
Got a call from a manager in Renault Customer Services. He's basically took into account the mileage of the car, the warranty thats left, ie the dealership warranty, which isn't as comprehensive at the first 2 year unlimited mileage manufacturer warranty, length of ownership of current...
Does anyone know whether 182 Cup dampers will fit a Trophy? Reason I ask is that my nearside front damper has a loose remote reservoir and has leaked oil and is therefore shot. My car has done only 31000 miles. I've only a few days left of my warranty (end of Aug, great timing!!) and will try...
I too went for the Philips X-treme Power +80% bulbs. Almost as bright as xenons. Also the best 50+ bulbs in autoexpress

Its well known that what ever the car make, engine size and type, courtesy cars are the fastest cars on the road, so in keeping with tradition, make sure you give it a good thrashing!!
If its not gonna cost extra then do it, in the name of research :D
It'll be interesting to see if "..The trumpet design recovers air pressure from air velocity, filling a plenum volume around the large surface area of the MAXOGEN filter" makes a difference!
If you've already removed the airbox for a Viper kit, then unless the viper uses the original airfeed, you will have bypassed the acoustic valve, so there's no need to remove it.
The standard airbox already breaths pretty well. When my car was dyno'd, it ran without the airbox for a comparison, it only yielded an extra 1bhp. My car runs without the acoustic valve and thats about as far as breathing mods will go since its a free mod, any more is a waste of money imo.
They were my nearest Unichip remappers. I don't know if they are able to remap the standard Renault ECU. Best contact them. Here's their website.

For the price of a remap, you may also want to consider the RS Tuner that allows you to upload a custom map yourself with a laptop. According to most posts on a number of forums, people have had good results and also allows to to analyse the data yourself can calculate power at the wheels. I...
Yeah I'm pretty please with the result. In everyday driving, it doesn't feel any faster on the road, no one is gonna "feel" half a second quicker, but every little bit helps! However, it drives a little better, but more than anything, its the peace of mind knowing that the car is now properly...
I recently discovered what was described to me as a "knock controller" when I bought the car, is in fact a Unichip piggyback unit. Great bonus I thought. Since it was originally setup with an open induction kit, I decided to have it remapped at Perfect Touch in Hoddesdon to what I have now, a...
As Cue says, the Clio Trophy have service intervals of 12000miles or every 2 years, which ever is soonest. It will need the Auxilary belt changed at the 36000 mile service and will cost in the region of £350-£450 depending on where you get it done.
