    Alpine A110 GT.

As per usual, a really good review by Harry. Cars like this, are really becoming an endangered species. Your not going to be able to buy a new car with specs and performance like that, with such little weight....unfortunatley cars like that are fast coming to an end. If you are in the...

Not One for the Faint Hearted

One nice bonus of owning a car like that would be that most people wouldn't want to take it out for a spin,so it would be all yours Nick 😉 You'd have nothing but the Raybans 😎 and a smile on you sitting in that 😁 I dont think I've seen too many Atoms that cheap before, aren't they notorious...

    SACHS DAMPERS REBUILDS

Reading through their history their founder also founded Aragosta (you tend to see those used in a lot of high end Skylines and the like in Japan) and seem to have a pretty serious and impressive history in a lot of different motorsport formulae.

    US vs UK car prices

I'm far from an expert, but I would guess the biggest influence on prices is the size of the market and economy of scale. Plus, are car related taxes,VAT etc. a lot lower Stateside? And to slightly flip your post on its head, speaking as someone living in Ireland, we get very envious of the...

    Flipping for Profit

If I'm reading those sold prices and the guide prices now right, the sellers will maybe make a loss/break even/slight profit? Amazing how quickly the market seems to have turned over the last 6/9 months. It sort of looks like people believed some of the extraordinary hype that you could buy a...

    Unique Thing

Looks like a fair bit of time and a lot of money has gone into that car.

    Trophy Sales on Collecting Cars

The January Blues are likely to be unhelpful Nick. Be interesting to see if the seller will try the CC route for a third time? I've just seen that really nice Cup 200 has been put back up as a classified sale for £13,500. Apparently the person who won it about a week ago became a no show and...

    Sachs on EBay

I'm not sure if there is a correct answer to this, as there are no doubt so many different variables that would have an effect. But how long, generally speaking, would the dampers stay in a very good, useable condition, while sitting off a car, not being used?

"Cost of Living With A Trophy" - Rush Magazine article.

Top class article there Craig. Loved the line "justification limbo that is quantum car mechanics" 😂 I think as car enthusiasts,we've all gone over that particular threshold more than once...unfortunately!! 🙈🙈😁

ANYONE LOOKING TO SELL THEIR TROPHY?

Good information there Nick, and apologies for side tracking this thread re: different Cats etc. I would guess whoever buys that particular Trophy, will find out about its backstory (whatever may have happened to it) and that research will hopefully give them piece of mind. The amount of cars...

ANYONE LOOKING TO SELL THEIR TROPHY?

I am not overly familiar with the ins and outs of what qualifies as a Cat D car,but I would guess there is a few different levels behind the D grade. So the damage might not be at the worst end of the scale,so to speak. Granted,as you say Ed,that would put people off it though.

ANYONE LOOKING TO SELL THEIR TROPHY?

That doesn't look to be a bad example at all does it? Had some money spent on it as well which is always good to see on cars like that.

    Trophy Sales on Collecting Cars

Finished up at £6,600, not sure what that makes it with the fees included?

    Stunning

I hope its alright to put this one here... As they usually say, there's no replacement for displacement, as so very well shown here by this SL73 AMG R129 SL. What a thing it is. https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/1996-mercedes-benz-r129-sl73-amg

    Unique Thing

I never knew VW stuck the VR6 engine into these. Looking back now to the early/mid 2000's, its mad to see what the likes of VW was willing to finance and build, compared to now. -Humble VW Golf V5 with the possibility of 2.3 Litre 5 cylinder or VR6 2.8 6 cylinder -VW Phaeton, spent serious...

While at the BP garage in Spain today

That is a little beauty, obviously very well cared for as well. I obviously am not as well versed in R5's but I love the Turbo sticker in the back window as well. How cool it must be looking in the rear view mirror and seeing that. Quick little thing I'd imagine. Love to see some more pictures...

    2005 Renault Clio 182 Trophy #465

I might be completely wrong on this, but the first thing I usually look at is the tyres on a car, even if its at a car show or a C&C. If they are from the cheaper/unknown end of the tyre manufacturer spectrum, it usually starts ringing alarm bells. The old adage, if they have skimped on...

    2005 Renault Clio 182 Trophy #465

That has to be a great example for someone. That sale price beats anything you'll get on the high street in the January sales.

    Trophy Sales on Collecting Cars

The winning bid was placed at least a day ago,so there didn't seem to be a big mad rush to bid,for some reason. It seemed like a cracking car for the money, cant be too many Cups about with that sort of mileage on them. By all accounts, they are one of the best and last of that sort of breed of...

From the pictures at least, that looks pretty good Nick. Had some money spent on it as well.

    Trophy Sales on Collecting Cars

Just curious about what happens if a car doesn't sell or meet its reserve. Do CC facilitate or approach the highest bidder to see if they will offer more?

    Trophy Sales on Collecting Cars

In today's new marketplace, with the price of most cars going down,it may turn out to be a regretful decision by the seller. But it's their car so they can do what they want with it. The reserve must have been at least £21k plus then.
  25. T

    Trophy Sales on Collecting Cars

I'd imagine CC were onto the seller to reduce/remove the reserve once it got close to that £20k mark.

    Trophy Sales on Collecting Cars

Damn,I would have thought it must be pretty close to its reserve,£20k seems like a decent price no?

The fact that it's car no.500,might make enough of a difference for some people to go that bit further to own it as well.

    Trophy Sales on Collecting Cars

I'll be a bit cheeky and say between £19500/21500. Depending if there are at least 2 people determined enough and who have enough access to the wine cellar 😂
