Dave, Mark Fish looks after my T. I haven't used any shims or bolts. What mark can do is machine the whole on the damper leg a tiny bit longer. No structural problem at all. I have 2.5 on front and 2 rear. Car is awesome if a little soft. But i found my car had too much understeer as standard...
Ok just an update. Took the car to Mark Fish and he tested all the stereo wires; no live feed. So he soldered a wire behind the fuse box at the side of the dash on the stereo fuse. He attached the other end to the iso harness. No I have a stereo that works properly. Yay.
Yes I have done mine a while back. I had intermittent starting problems. Replaced battery; not that. The broke down at work. AA took one look at it and toed me to the dealer. Dealer fixed. Never gone since (touch wood).
So I also assume that this is a problem with the car, not the stereo. Just thinking as its second hand if I'd be better off with a shiny new one.
Think I may get mark fish to fix it.
Ok. So how did the standard radio work wihout this?
I know there is someone on this forum with a high end audio setup. They must have came across this too.
Hi folks,
I recently bought a Sony car radio (CDX700) of a mate, on the understanding that he would fit it and get it working.
This he has done. However we can't seem to manage to get the radio to save any time or settings.
Before you say anything, I know its to do with the red and yellow...
Hi,
I'd say your values are about right. The market seems to be on the rise atm, but it is a slow rise. How long that will continue for is anyone's guess. But I do think that there is ultimately a limit to how much someone will pay for a clio. The exhaust hanger is a cheap fix, assuming the...
Where is the best/any place I can get these for my T. I currently run 42's and could get them from K-tec, but it seems they dont do 14's. No to pf or cl before anyone says those.
ok, I spoke to greenlight, who I've insured with previously. They will mirror my no claims from another company on my T as a second vehicle for £299. I can get the Passat insured using my no claims for £275-£300. Overall a saving of £200 ish. Long term I will sell the T as I will be able to save...
claude how can you get insurance from a separate company, when your no claims are on your other car with another company?
ive got quotes that say they mirror the discount, but the prices quoted are not reflecting that.
Anyone done this? I've been given my dads Passat for nothing and want to use it as a daily beater, but also insure my T until i sell it. Any recommendations. My T is currently with Sainsbury's at £219 fully comp for the year. But their multi seems expensive as I don't think they mirror. They...
I've fitted the K-tek race version, which is practically solid. I have also got used to it. The car does vibrate alot, but the way the car feels more than makes up for it. There is no engine movement when accelerating and braking, and the handling is better as the engine leans alot less in the...
Right, thought I'd update the thread as I now have the car back, including the bill lol. Reading from said bill the work includes:
Remove sub frame, gearbox and clutch
Rebuild the gearbox
Fit new clutch
Replace cam belt and tensioners,
De phaser pulley and camshaft oil seals,
aux belt and...
cant recommend AST's enough. I dont have them, but i went out in someone elses. I dont have the mark fish rears, was next in line before i was hit with this bombshell. my understanding is that most people go for his setup as the rear are way too soft and playfull as sttandard. most people want a...
Do you want any pics, or specifically of the geo? I have previously posted my pure motorsport exhaust if you are interested. Probably is a bit too much tbh, but I never get understeer. Rear is prob more ott than the front as rear has to lean a long way before you even start to compress spring
I have his geo, 2.5 deg neg on front 2deg neg on rear. It sounded like alternator whine. but it mainly is at 40 mph ish, 2-3k rpm. When you lift off the throttle and engine is on overrun, you get a whirring vibration type sound. you can feel it through the gearstick too. I realised it was this...
Just been to Mark Fish to investigate a noise i had on the car. Turns out it was worn diff bearings. Cue engine and gearbox out, suspension off exhaust off. rebuild diff and gearbox. new clutch, new belts and pulleys etc. im gonna be brassic this month. any spare change?
The Audi mounts come with the exhaust, so I have no idea of cost. I would love to know out of curiosity. I suspect they would fit standard exhaust. Someone could email nick @ pure and ask him, or just try. BTW does my youtube video work?
it sure is lighter. I'm very happy with the sound, both in terms of tone and volume. When you first start the car there is a low bass hum. With the new Audi mounts the exhaust is very still. This means that the sound is very clean and straight, if you know what I mean; no vibrations at all. It...
