My trophy was good.
My 197 was better & my mate shits himself when i drive his 200 :D
I can't tell the difference between the 197/200 as i never bothered about mpg or costs i just drove it hard.
Down my test track the 197 still has the record, but not by much.
Re: 2005 Renault Clio Trophy, over 7K spent! Big Spec!
 =D> [-X  #-o
I call the 7K spend running costs & as Sir D states it don't make it worth anymore :D
Make sure the garage fits the 'belt kit' not just belts.
As the kit contains tensioners & rollers etc, may also be worth getting them to check waterpump as well.
197's also suffer this, BUT only if you drive like a girl :D
Like the colour, beware of those wheels in winter as i had a set & they do not like salt! Raider wheels?
I don't get this 'do you miss it?'
Good choice, i know several ex T owners that have them & rate them highly :D
Marrow maybe you should get your T on track, you may get used to seeing the back of MX5's
I was there also, was a good day but spoiled by the rain.
Left at 3pm to dry out
Had an off road moment at JC Esses but no one seems to have caught that?
Thats exactly what i thought till i met Mr Roddison at Oulton & he lapped far quicker than me (in my trophy & 197 Cup running R888's etc) in the damp conditions.
But mainly he was having more fun doing it!
The white & blue car, currently leading the series, laps Mallory in under 60 secs...
Hiya Luke, defo good fun in the wet.
Did the longest drift/slide at Stowe, even the instructor was impressed
As it dried out loved the section after the new pit complex
You were lucky with your wheel nuts that could of ended badly
Doing Mallory on the 14 Aug if you...
Good job it's not that bright blue from 86/87 as i had one when they were new.
Boy did it like to get hammered.
The guys from OB Racing played with it for me, it flew! :D
You need at least a cupped 197 to compare & they didn't arrive till mid/late 07.
A good T is £7k i sold my fully loaded Cup for £12K, not bad seeing as paid £11K back in Feb 1600 miles. Sold 6500m, due a service 6 trackdays & 5000 hard road miles
Admit it Jules you miss me :( =D> :^o
Totally agree with you.
Very similar experience i had when i got my 197Cup.
The haters soon came out
Another thing worth noting is when i tried another trophy back in Oct it seemed so 'dated' & engine is so 'gruff' compared to the latest 2.0.
Defo once you have had the 197/200 no going...
I found a new company local to me who specialise in track focused premiums.
I used to be with greenlight, £387 + £50 for every trackday i wanted to do.
New company £418 including 4 trackdays included :D
So in reality i'm paying £218 for my road cover =D>
Only got £250 excess as well
Rodders took me round Oulton in his mk3 race car, he then toook me round in the white car.
It was almost undriveable on the wet track, sideways everywhere, unsticking tyres in all gears.
On dry track it's almost unbeatable.
I was having 2nd dibs on it
"Then i bin/sell my tyres at 4mm anyway."
I should of stated for my road tyres.
Same with wifes motor as soon as half worn time for fresh.
The Germans have 3mm min by law.
