Thanks Marc, that is very good news. That email from BG kinda hints that the situation was more serious than we thought. Hopefully that covers spare parts as well as service parts.
well done.
I will echo Ed almost word for word here. RenaultSport is no longer and it always seemed to be a British “thing” so that is a complete dead end. Sachs would be a more likely option but would there have been some kind of licensing with Renault that has now lapsed hence their closed door.
Which...
All a bit concerning this but quite surprised that BG are not thinking about reverse engineering various bits, things like the shafts are pretty simple bits of metal.
Take your pick of reasons for this, there are a fair few threads with a similar theme but sticky/dirty throttle body, injectors, coil pack, crappy old fuel, was there also something of an issue with the contacts on the throttle peddle Itself? Hopefully it is nothing though.
To be honest, seeing the way some are disintegrating, well worth the effort. The challenge is getting to the bottom of the pits. Their Highbild primer, fine sand, spray, fine sand etc etc will get a nicer finish if you want to get properly anal.
When I did mine I did consider the colour, but...
I always try to make sure that the posts I make are correct and as I said, if I am wrong then I am the first to say okay fine. I am just trying to clarify a couple of the things you have posted that contradict what I believe, but you crack on.
Patrick, as you say the thrust bearing sits easier with the flat side sitting on top the spring plate.
Nick, yours is different again to the version in my pic, which is the original. You have the bearing that sits on the spring plate, then the doughnut sits on that. The brass insert then slides...
Does anyone know the reason for the write off?
As above, It’s difficult to see much more than the value of scrap and a few parts. Tot up the cost of just a few of the jobs, with the write off marker and there are better options out there.
What you as The Cable Whisperer? We wouldn’t have made fun of that at all……..😉
Mine does sometimes delay popping up but I guess it is a matter of keeping things lubed up.
Yes but they attach the grill and the bumper should pull away from that allowing a little more access to the mechanism.
Be very careful pulling and pushing. The bonnet dent is a pig.
A Long time ago this so I might not be remembering quite right. When my bonnet sensor failed, the alarm would just go off fully at random times, not just that constant beep. Easy enough to check though, unplug the sensor just beneath where it feeds through the front cross beam. The alarm will...
Lots to like there. Slightly over saturated photos but would be nice to see more and I don’t like the red bits in the cabin.
Oh and Nick, both Renault and Sport badges are wrong!
Erm, weird this. I do not get the adverts if I view on my iPad whether signed in or not, though I do on my iPhone???? ( though I do not sign in)
I am also not a member as I do not have the red banner under my name, although I did make a contribution to the site a few years ago before the paid...
