Im putting this in here just so it gets the most attention and people see it.

Renault have now stopped selling Renault Type D Coolant (Lime Green) and its now changed to Type E LDR (Bright Blue)

This means that a full coolant flush would would be needed for the Green and Blue not to mix.

Also the Renault Type D does have an production and EXP date on the bottle.

I have managed to get a load of Genuine Renault Type D (Lime Green) as I normally get a coolant flush every big service.

Renault Type D - 7711428130 (Green)
This super supersedes to
Renault Type E LDR - 7711947051 (Blue)

Good info, cheers @MarcB .

I had heard rumblings about this last year from a Renaultsport specialist, but surprised to see it coming in so soon.

Cant get anything for the MK2 now.

I have large boxes and suit cases full of parts.

Problem is you cant really store Aux Belts or T/Belt kits as they are rubber and will perish.

I was on the phone my my mate who is a parts manager and he has over 250+ bottles in stock and has offered me a large amount at a serious discount so I took it.

Would rather have 10 bottles with a 8/9 year shelf life than none.

Sounds very sensible to get some in stock for the future.

As you say though, there's absolutely no point stock piling belt kits because of the degradation of the rubber even if not fitted to the car - once they're 'out of date' as it were it becomes an absolute lottery to actually fit them...

Can I ask what's so special about Type D coolant? Can it easily be swapped for an alternative brand?

Nothing special as such but its been in Renaults for as long as I can remember and its what I know and use.
If you want to swap over to the new coolant TYPE E LDR then you best make sure that you flush the car out very well as blue and green won't look nice.

Also have a look at this from Valvoline

Hi
Type D still exist by a new reference and new chemical formulation from this year.
It’s not recommended to mix with the old one
Type E aren’t for RS engine

According to a Renault dealership from a user over on CS.net this is what they said -

"I called up my local Renault dealer and they said type e is the new type d you can mix it no issues, they said any type d on the shelf will be old stock @MarcB whats the date on that bottle?"

"Direct Replacement to the Type D coolant
7711428130
Ready for use with protection up to -21 degrees
Compatibility (guideline)
This coolant is suitable for Dacia & Renault models"

I persoanlly don't care as I have this to go along with what I currently have in the garage.
Here is what I picked up tonight

There has been someone tried to use the Type E LDR and after a few flushes there was still Green Type D in the system and it mixed colour.
Personally the new Type E LDR looks sh** also.

All dealerships as well as RPD do not sell Type D (LIME GREEN) Anymore.

The New stuff (TYPE E) I believe only has an exp dat of 3 years unlike the original TYPE D
