side thought, would it be worth getting a pair of LHD headlights to install in the car so they aim correctly and so you get proper light spread? Annoying though RE the parts too!
loving all these responses. Taking me much longer to read now! Keep them coming.
@SharkyUK was it Porsche or Ferrari who started the whole charge more for less trend? Was it the RS or the Challenge Stradale?
Yep we got the 4 round light front end like the rest of the world. Most of the cars in Aus that have the JDM front end would have been a conversion or personal import. Even the DC5R I had was more like the US Spec RSX Type S than the JDM equivalent. I blame the poorer quality high sulfur content...
Yeah this one is on 33k km so 20k miles and change. There is a website called https://minkara.carview.co.jp/ where a lot of car enthusiasts in Japan like to document their car ownership. Unfortunately as it is part of Yahoo! Japan it is blocked in the UK and EEA, only way to get into it is via a...
I'm on the Japan Renault owners group, joined it to find some JDM inspiration for my old Trophy. This 9-52 ref 182 has seen a lot of track days.
Here is the other one, #25/50
Yep most of the Trophys I've seen in Japan are LHD swiss exports. One is on its way to 300k km and another on 33k km.

I can't find it but one of the trophy owners in Japan also has a few other Renaults such as the Spyder.
Haha he hasn't given it a proper drive yet. Sat with the engine builder for 2 years due to covid and other things. The exhaust system is just being finalised after a 1000km run in.
Love the pug by the way! How does the 205 Gti compare the to Trophy? You probably have what most would call the...
The DC5 doesn't actually have an oversteering character and is quite neutral due to its long wheelbase, it is just when it does oversteer you can't catch it as it is a very slow tempo oversteer. This means when you try to power out of the oversteer or counter steer the car, it will keep on...
The DC5R was super easy to live with. I used it as my daily driver after selling the Altezza, my road bike could be left whole and put in the boot with the rear seats down. They are good cars however I found the chassis to not be as sharp/dynamic as the shorter civic Type R hatch and the k20a...
