Glad to hear you are so happy! :D

If I wasn't getting married this year, I think I would be making some similar investments, guess I'll just have to wait, but it sounds like the Orbisoud is worth waiting for!

well i've got the splitter, just needing the ECU (did you get the Group N one?) ITG and Orb... the orb will have to wait though :(

Grp N - that's the one. http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=1966

Very interesting thread Neo. The result sounds great, due some dividend in March, going to treat myself, and the car.

Glad to have been of some interest Max :) From what Dave was saying I am the first bod to order the quieter 'ladies' version of the Orb. So I had thought it might be something others weren't aware of perhaps and would be of interest

i would love to do all of these mods in the summer but live 280 miles from k-tec! What would be the best thing to do in this case? Go for one long day trip or get the orb n maxogen fitted else where and get the remap done by rs tuning which is the nearest to me i think?

argh! I set out with the intention of keeping 154 totally standard but you make these mods sound so good! I don't have the money right now so that has put me off nicely but perhaps one day I will invest in some...!!

Any chance of seeing some pictures of the exhaust?

KTec do mail order aswell. But I went 100 odd miles to get them to fit it. Requires welding 2 new mounting 'jobbies' and I wanted to get someone who had done it before. Just to be on the safe side I guess

I feel like the naughty boy leading others astray! I also started with a restriction of mods being vaguely safety related ie uprated brakes, fire extinguisher, CG lock. Then it got me thinking (I knew I should have stopped logging on to this place!). Then I was on that slippery slope. So concluded OK if I get it done I get it done right.. Pictures wise I will see what I can do this afternoon for you (after a trip down to RenTech).

Yozza sport is half the distance - also, RS Tuning in Leeds is a bit closer.

Tried today using my mobile phone, results not good enough :(
Let me dig out the D50 tomorrow and do a proper job..
Had a really good look underneath whilst it was up on the ramps at Rentech, looks very tidy, particularly the rear box hangers (which attach to the new mounts). Anyway let me sort out the photos tomorrow.. With any luck uploading won't be beyond my abilities

Nice one!

Does anyone know of (or have) any videos or sound files comparing the different exhaust systems and set ups? I would love to hear the difference!

I to was thinking about keeping Mario Kart standard but a bit more power wouldn’t go amiss and I do love a cracking exhaust note :)

Same problem MC45, I'm just over the boundry in Skipton.

Thanks Cue.

i think im just going to opt for the day trip if possible in the summer because of what neo said bout the welding of the brackets and like him id like someone to do it that has done it before and knows what they are doing. Plus it will be one hell of a journey back :p

yozza does exhausts all the time - they specialise in it (i think they even build custom exhausts for the clio)

RS tuning would be more of an engine specialist, possibly the geometry would be ok for them - I'll be checking with them in the next couple of weeks.

Neophyte,
How does the exhaust sound when your not pushing the engine? Does it still sound like a 1.4?

I want something which sounds a bit more sporty generally, but doesn't attract too much attention from police etc. Would your quiet Orbisoud fit this description?

I have been thinking about it for ages. I really want to gain some torque without being paranoid that I'm about to be pulled over all the time.

Thanks,
Luke.

A little louder than the standard item when at even speed; as soon as you squeeze the throttle it is louder though, but not excessively so in my view. As for Police I wouldn't have entertained the idea of anything which would attract that type of attention! I think it is 1db louder than standard, which equates to roughly 33%. Nothing which I would describe as leary. Sounds nice on tick over aswell.

Further to previous requests for pictures please see attached :)
