I'm trying to recall who did those split rim wheels, they were popular in small sizes on classic mini's in the 90's I think because of their lightness. And yes wheels are wrong but reminiscent of the wheels on the 5 Turbo 1 with the split red and silver.
Yep and there I go again.

I'll hold with my suggestion that that car will be pretty brisk, it's the sort of local machinery which I've chanced across on Euro Tours which with the combination of a hot little car and local knowledge blows much more prestigious machinery hilariously into the weeds!
Well, Minilites or rather the Cooper 'rose petals' were the go-to wheels on classic Mini's & they also looked fab on Mk2 Escort's back in the day. But those little split rims on that Euro R5 are something different, as you said earlier they were also fitted (aftermarket) to R5 Turbo's ... the manufacturer will come back to me.. I've seen them recently at the hillclimbs..Surely Minlite for the mini? But I also want to say BBS?
Our little red cars definitely have a big dose of 5GTT dna.
I'd agree, though I was a Peugeot man in those years...Our little red cars definitely have a big dose of 5GTT dna.
As did the Pug 1.9 and of course our beloved red cars with the Turini's.The name escapes me too. Rota? Some of the Turbo’s have Gotti.
Another fun fact. The ph1 and ph2 5GTT both have Speedlines fitted as standard.
This is the type I was thinking of...
Can't remember who made the bloody things..

I do like seeing old(ish) standard stuff like that in good condition and still serving a purpose. We do the same with our little workhorse Clio 1.2, it's 17 this year, gets used pretty hard, but we also look after it pretty well mechanically, so bless it, it keeps on going. We might get another van or a pick-up at some stage, but the little Clio will still stay with us.Back over here again and saw these 2 old girls on the way home from a night out! A combination of a warm climate and incredibly high used car prices makes people hang to their cars for decades.
I wonder what NCAP rating this would get?!
