Wheel weights.

The things I find myself doing of an evening to amuse myself... I just thought I'd back to back weigh a Trophy spec Turini and a 172 Cup item to see what the difference is, if any. With startling results. Both rims weighed bare with no tyre or centre cap.

Trophy Turini ( 8200514737 ): 8.2kg

172 Cup Turini ( 8200240867 ): 8.8kg

Amazed to find out the Cup Item is 600g heavier! It feels it too, with much more meat around the centre/spoke area, I wouldn't have expected the extra offset to add so much.

There we are, just thought I'd post that up for future reference.

I knew it! I always thought this myself, but never had the wheels without tyres on to weigh and compare! My current track wheels (on the Trophy) are Cup Turinis and I always thought they felt heavier!

I’m going to tell my wheel man to double layer the paint on your Cup alloys Ed just to pea you off when you have them refurbished

I’m hoping he’s going to use some sort of super light paint in a really thin layer…
They currently seem to have a lot of primer & paint on them!
