Hi Guys,

Its looking likely that I might have to sell No.273 after 5 and a bit years, due to financial reasons. I was wondering if you could help me with regards to a valuation. Prices seem to be all over the place at the moment, so I have no idea.

One major problem is that I don't have much service history. All services/major works has been done by a family friend who is a mechanic. I never bothered with keeping receipts, as the plan was to keep the T for the long term.

I'm the 3rd owner
Mileage - 90,085
Sachs - have not been refurbished during my ownership. Checked at every service but still in good working order.
Body work - Very good condition. No dents. Previous owner had the T re-sprayed, and it has been under cover for most of my ownership. although, small Blistering starting to appear on bonnet near drivers Headlight (size of stamp)
Alloys - Turinis, recently re-sprayed. Not marked.
Interior - Recaro's in very good condition. Heater control panel has started to peel.
Scorpion 192 exhaust. Had a little trouble aligning, as quite a big system.
Tyres - On Pirelli's
Splitter - Renault original.
Boot struts need replacing, looking to sort this out soon.
Recently replace alternator, and had belts done - August 2016. but as above don't have receipts as proof.

I will try and put photo's up in the next few days, but phone is knackered at the moment.

Its been a very reliable and fun car to own/drive.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
Paul.

Difficult without viewing but I'd say a solid £5k possibly a little more

Depends what else is on the market when you come to sell. Advertise for £5995 or nearest offer and see if you get any bites!

Good luck, sorry you're forced to sell it :(

Given the spec, conditions and lack of history and based on the recent market prices I'd suggest advertising at £6.5k with a view to getting no less than 6.

Best of luck with the sale - I thought about selling 390 a few months back, but went out for a long drive and realised what a cracking car the Trophy is :)

Ask £6500, accept £6000 seems about right. Can only find a small handful for sale at the moment, sellers market I reckon.

I would look to be taking about £5500- 6k for it really. As always condition is a factor. I wouldn't worry too much about the Sachs. If they are original and working well I wouldn't have got them done either. One factor is the cam belt. Most folk are going to want to know that's been done as you can soon get into a £500 job.
I take the view with older cars that the most expensive part to sort Is the bodywork, there is no such thing as a cheap paint job these days so a front end ,bonnet and a couple of panels and you are £750 +
You're not far out in the mid to late £5k's though.

Thanks for the all the reply's. Going to try and stick some photo's up tomorrow.
I'm in no urgent rush to get rid, but would probably need to have it gone by summer. Possibly stick it on here for a few months, and if no serious interest, then think about putting it out to a wider audience.

Your car looks very nice.
Personally I would say 7k, for starters there seems to have been a bit of a bun fight with people trying to buy.
Secondly the cosmetics look to be in good order with only the bonnet needing attention.
Regarding the lack of history do you have any part purchase receipts? They may back up what you are saying but I would either welcome any independent inspection if the purchaser wished.

And as said if the Sachs are okay leave them, if the purchaser wants them refreshed i am sure Rik Perry will look after them!
Good luck with the sale!

Thanks Mate. I did notice a couple for sale, with around 100k mileage asking for about £7k. I foolishly didn't keep any receipts when having work done. The independent inspection sounds like a good idea, and I would have no problems with that.
I want to have a quick word with my mate who has done all the work on the car over the years, to see if he has any additional information to add, before putting the car officially up for sale.
Will be really sad to see it go, but priorities change in life. Looks like i'll be replacing it with a boring diesel unfortunately.

Nice looking trophy and agree it would be worth around £6-7k as people seem to be really keen on finding a well looked after one... appreciate your mate did the servicing but could he write down what he did and when not as a receipt just more of a log of what has been done!

pistonheads is worth putting it on when you want to sell it or one of us could screen grab the advert and put it on Facebook for you.

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks
Pete

Thanks mate. Great idea of making a log of work done, will look at getting this sorted. Possibly looking at listing car on here, Cliosport.net and pistonheads, and seeing what interest I get from there.

Just a quick update. Car still being put up for sale, but not until end of April, early May. Going to be busy for the next couple of months, so thought best to delay.
