I am reluctantly putting up 218 up for sale. I acquired 218 as the second owner in February 2008 with 29k miles on the clock.
The car is pretty much standard except for the Scorpion RS192 exhaust which was fitted in 2008. I fitted Brembo HC discs and OE Ferodo pads in 2009 and the rear discs/bearings and pads have been replaced with OE items in 2010. All the pads and discs still have plenty of meat left on them and the brake fluid was changed last year with Halfords DOT 5.1 High Performance brake fluid. The engine oil is replaced every year without fail despite Renaults official 2 year service intervals.
The dampers were replaced less than two years ago with brand new Sachs supplied by West Renault. However, theses are not the "original" dampers but the identical looking official Renaultsport Twingo R1 uprated rally spec versions that have a machined aluminium scraper ring on the shaft of the dampers to prevent dirt ingress. These were official replacements from Renault at that time.
Both pre and post lambda sensors have been replaced by OE sensors under 2 years ago. The battery was replaced 2 years ago.
I fitted the car with Dunlop Sport Maxx RT tyres all round 2 years ago and currently has about 4-5mm tread left.
I am a low mileage driver and done on average around 3k-4k miles a year, the car currently has 52800 miles on the clock.
Exterior condition is to be expected for an 8 year old car with a few stone chips on the front that I have touched up with correct Renault supplied touch up paint, but there is a very tiny stone dent on the bonnet that was on the car when I bought it. The wheels have suffered minor curbing marks, but nothing that a refurb won't fix.
The interior is in immaculate condition and with no sign of degradation or melting of the steering wheel.
It has a full service history with services carried out either by Renault or Renault specialists. The last service was carried out by West Renault Bedford in 2012 and is currently due a regular service at the end of July and is due a cambelt change around the same time next year. It is MOT'd until 12/10/2014 and Taxed until 31/08/2014.
218 has been my labour of love and is well looked after and washed and waxed every month. The car has been utterly reliable and has never let me down.
Most of what I have done to the car are detailed in the threads below.
