Tomtom or Garmin?

About to replace my TT1 V1.

What to get, don't need all singing & dancing as will rarely use it. Just saves getting the map out

Seen TT V3 for £100 or Gar Nuvi 250 £114.

Hear good & bad about both makes.

Ideas?

just ordered a tt 720T if its a help, did some research and think it offers all of what I'm after... just hope the safety camera stuff is good!!

i've got a tomtom v3, dont use it too much but it's very good, have no complaints, never used a garmin before but i would defo buy another tomtom again.

personally tomtom would be my choice, but test whatever you go for, make sure you can put destinations in from various data sources such as postcodes, addresses. the new one that other people help update sounds good.
