Swapping an R26 for a 182 Trophy?

Ive only just discovered this forum and i realise there will be a lot of Trophy experts on here.

Just currently looking to gauge the opinion here....i have an LY R26 (87k,belts just done,good condition) and fancy going back to NA (had a 182 for 9 years prior) and the Trophy is the one that appeals to me,mainly off the back of Harry Metcalfe's review on Youtube hehe.

Ive noticed theres hardly any for sale nationwide atm.....is this a realistic swap? (obviously looking for a Trophy in good condition,good history etc.) Ive seen that recent number 130 for sale,and its a bit of a dog.

Hi, Not very many T's for sale is normal, if you want a decent one it will be over £6k

Yeah probably just a case of keep looking. Its strange that theres such a difference in the price of a mint Trophy and R26. Both great cars in their own right....the Trophies are commanding thousands more. Probably due to the rarity i suppose.

I don't agree with that necessarily.

You can get a decent one for less than £6k that's just on higher miles. Mine must still be worth about £5k on 108k miles and there's no way it isn't 'a decent one'.

Yeah i mean people overprice them...likes theres one for 12k atm while a mint R26 you can get for 7k.

The truly mint ones on ultra-low mileage command a premium. Within the last couple of years I've seen two sell for more - one around £16k and the other for a touch over £19k. You just need to find the right buyer!

That said, I prefer a Trophy that I can take out and enjoy as opposed to having it sit in a climate controlled garage.

I think £5.5-6.5k will find you a nice example but it won't be low mileage (which is not a problem provided it has been looked after).

Yeah im not bothered about it being quite high mileage as long as its been well looked after - and most should be owned by enthusiasts anyway i think?
