Watching Harry’s garage restoration on something old and how every bit was so expensive (different league admittedly).

182’s aren’t being broken as much and most people on here don’t ever have plans to sell. What bits do people think you should buy now and shove on the shelf before they get tougher / expensive ?

You could buy a whole mint example, that should sort you for most parts!
The boat has sailed on most of the Trophy specific parts but what makes it a difficult question to answer is that a lot of the bits you would expect to continue have also disappeared.
I think it must have been a Renault policy decision, up until a few years ago a lot of spares remained available for the 5 GTT and then almost overnight across the board they were discontinued became rarer and more expensive.

Yeah I think they have totally stopped making 90% of parts if they are not selling high numbers then they won't bother.

Like any car manufacturers they must stock and supplied parts for that model for up to 10 years

If you google it is states this -

"7 to 10 years"

According to this new law, manufacturers will be obligated to have spare parts readily available for 7 to 10 years after the purchase of the product. Moreover, all parts will have to be designed in a way that would allow any repairer to fix them using common tools and without damage to the appliance.


Renault are crazy as you can buy a part in December with loads of UK & French stock and then come January Renault will decide that they no longer need to produce, Stock or sell this part and it just vanishes from the database and goes obsolete as the cars are old now.

I have spoken with a few parts managers regarding this and they have told me that every January Renault have a massive overhaul of there parts catalogs and stock gets wiped off or prices go up.

Its was more or less around 2005 when they stopped these cars so they are knocking on 15+ years old so the manufacturer can stop the parts as they see fit.

When speaking to Renault UK they often tell you to join the forums.

There is a list of parts that are NLA for the 182 and its only going to get bigger as time goes on it.

Rear ABS Sensors
Front & Rear Sachs
Headlight Washer Blanks
Front Splitters
Rear Brake Pads
Front & Rear Springs
Rear Renault Badge
Drive Shaft
Trophy Speedline Turini
Steering Wheel
Front 60mm Knuckles


Are just some of the parts off the top of my head.

Yeah most parts above is what makes a Trophy unfortunately. It looks like they are not content on just making shite cars now they won't keep the decent ones they once made going either. Looks like they are following in peugeot's footsteps.

They are and you can send your 205 for a overhaul I think but at what cost is anybodies guess.

Do you have a link to anything (in French or English fine) that outlines what they'll do?

My understanding of the Peugeot Museum was just that. A museum where versions of all the cars are stored.

The historic parts catalogue is mostly old stock as I understand. They have not remade much in the way of parts to my knowledge, perhaps some parts for very old vintage Peugeots (pre 205's).

You can't find parts for S1 106's for love nor money, bar hanging out at specialist scrapyards, or finding someone breaking one. 106's didn't seem to have parts made in volume to be kept in store like the 205. Seems Peugeot just made small batches during the life of the car and when they were gone made more; until demand dropped so they stopped.

I was informed that parts for the 205 were made in huge bulk. So some are still available.

I have no idea how you go about getting them i just read they were available from early this year as above.

Whilst I have no idea how long the others will be available for the fact that one is N/A is not a good sign.
The reason I mention all this is because when I refitted mine a while back I noticed that they had got brittle enough to break off a small bit.

Yeah stuff that falls to bits even on a maintained car like yours is a total arse.

The irony there is that if you don’t touch them they will be fine(ish). They’ve also got daft expensive.

These are the numbers for the two large front liners that sit in the top of the arches. You also have the two that sit behind the front bumper of which one is not available, see highlighted thread.

@hoolio im guessing that the part numbers above are the rear sections of the front arch liners (item 10 & 11)

That’s correct Marc.

Does anyone have any advice on the best if any treatment to apply to these as some kind of protection before the new are fitted and the old are refitted?

I have no idea what you could use, Only thing that comes to mind is something like PPF.

Either way they are going to get scuffed and marked IMO

Of course they are going to see the worst of the road but I thought I saw someone suggest a bike treatment, muck off or something like that?
