Ooo, a colour change? I did hear somewhere once that Renault toyed with the idea of painting the Trophy's white... 😁

Probably our best trumpet blower Harry Metcalfe mentions during his excellent video that Renault were all set to paint the Trophy in white but bottled out at the last minute!

It's really tempting to do one isn't it. Perhaps if I ever get round to making another hillclimb car it should be a white Clio with Trophy stickers... :ROFLMAO:

I just thought it’s a cheap ish respray in Trophy Red - I’d just want to pay extra for the glass removing rather than masking up for a better finish.

So what's included at this price?
For a vehicle in the Twingo / Clio size range
- Panels off
- Basic rust treatment
- Basic dent repair
- Masking work for wheels, exhaust, glass etc
- Priming
- Painting a colour of your choice (we can do 99% of OEM colours)
- Paint to door shuts and boot shut
- Lacquer
- Reassembly

"Technically" the front windscreen doesn't need to be removed as the gap left by windscreen seal is enough for a high quality finish. It's good practice to remove the glass though to get a perfect finish. The side glass need to be removed to ensure the inside of the doors and the visible bits behind the rear glass are the right colour.

Cost wise, this is definitely a lot cheaper than quotes I received and I would want more information about how much prep they're doing, what brand of paint is being used and how many coats do you get.

Around London and the South East, a full glass out respray will cost between 6-10k before buying additional new parts and clips. For that money you should get three or four layers of paint, a lot of prep work and a reasonable amount of rust and dent repairs.

In many ways i am fortunate to based in Northern Scotland, one of the benefits being labour costs are generally far more reasonable than those charged the further South you go- i have just paid £5k+ to have 88 resprayed, so would approach a quote of sub £3k with extreme caution.

With that said, i'm always happy to be proved wrong by someone braver than i am to give it a punt, i'll keep my fingers crossed for you! 🤞
