Hi Charlie

Is this a vehicle you are looking to Purchase or Sell ???

As for the market for Trophy's - I'd say It's not an easy time to price due to the lack of them coming up for sale recently, and especially good ones with very little spend, however unfortunately the above has got a good few thousand pounds in refurb to make it tip top, and thats if you have got a good team of tradesmen to help.

Nick

Taking into consideration despite the low-ish miles, there's a fair bit of spend needed on this car by the sounds of it, which impacts on the price.

Budget £1.2k+ for the belts & fitting by someone who knows what they're doing.
Dampers will need a look at after 10 years too, so realistically budget £1.5k for those to be serviced/refurbed.
Bodywork could eat money too depending on whether or not you have access to a bodyshop who can do 'mates rates'. It sounds like it needs around £3k spending on it, panels & painting.
I'd be fitting new tyres too, 8year old tyres are going to feel rubbish, so I'd throw on a set of PS5's, budget probably £550 fitted.

My opinion realistically in the current market, its probably a £7 - £7.5k car.

I wouldn't personally no.... But then, I'm from Yorkshire, so draw your own conclusions on that... 🤣🤣🤣

Other important variables are: number of owners, maintenance history, MOT history. Other questions I'd be asking are: If the car has been stored for long periods - which with that mileage it more than likely has, what kind of environment has it been kept it etc?

Its got very good service history, Mot history is OK. I believe 6 owners. Stored in garage for 10 yrs

My Trophy was in good tidy shape, running well, 65k miles etc. been off the road for a little while, for me to enjoy it I wanted to know it was mechanically strong and a few aesthetic bits and pieces. It’s 21 years old etc..

For my peace of mind I had major service and belts/dephaser done. Which picked up a few other minor bits and pieces whilst there. Nothing of significance but got works completed.

I wanted to refresh discs and pads.

Fancied cleaning underside and protecting it.

A few stone chips and bit of fading on bumpers and bonnet so had them repainted to bring whole car to great standard.

There’s £4k spent.

I don’t begrudge the spend, car looks fantastic and I’m now super confident it’s mechanically in great shape and I can enjoy it and I’m not worried about selling etc. But to advice given I wouldn’t underestimate costs with a Trophy and spend if refreshing or putting back on the road.

Sachs appear in good order but as mentioned £1500-2000 there when needed.

As directly above really, I have my very respectable 57k T in at AW Motorworks at the moment and expect a bill north of the above without any paintwork and with me supplying many of the parts.
I would not be paying £9k for that example without a fair amount of the work needed being done. For a little more than that I think you could buy a pretty sorted example, admittedly with more miles.

Whats all being done with your T? Could you share what this example would be worth

Alex at AW was sent a very long list, basically taking a 20 year old car and mechanically getting it back to as close as it was when new and with a few tweaks possibly better.
When you ask “Could you share what this example would be worth“ do you mean mine or LX55 URY?
