Had a further play with the car today and replaced other balljoint. Still shocked at how tight the holding bolt was, wondering if they were worn as very rusty!!

Took springs off struts and pushed hard on 1 of the dampers and it seemed to move in quite a bit with force. Should they be moved by human pressure? Booked them in for May with BG so here's hoping the car will be like new. Also decided to go for solid top mounts.

I put one end in the pit of my stomach and pulled on the rod. fnar fnar and it wouldn't budge.

Defo must be dampers causing my problems, can push mine down hard and the damper just keeps going in!

Also noticed a strange noise too which may be another problem!

You shouldn't be able to push the dampers down at all mate. My driverside was really soft and ya could push it in by hand, they have been re furbed and it's now impossible to move them!
