So much for this underbody treatment.

2 years hence and both sills are going to need replaced along with part of the floorpan at a minimum, ballpark estimate £1500.

Either the underside was too far gone in the first place (in which case I'd want to be told that) or the dinitrol treatment has actually trapped moisture, either way I can think of better ways to spend a grand.

Would urge caution for anyone getting this done-

Thats awful, I'm going to get mine done in the coming months but will really look into the companies reviews before committing now.

That's a lot of rust to have appeared in two years. I can't see a bit of moisture being the cause, it looks like inside wasn't rust inhibited and treated.

That company I used has very good reviews so it's tricky.

If the underside was in good condition in the first place I don't doubt it'd work well but when you advertise rust removal as part of the package...

Wow that's such a shame especially after all the hard work you have put into this car - and Cash.

I was very lucky with No63 when I did the underside - because I was refurbing most parts the car was virtually bare which made it a lot easier.
The process that I was told to do was treat the rust and then apply Gravitec - it is used through an air gun for the best results and gets in all the right places - we then wax oiled the car heavily in every hole possible to hopefully future proof it for years to come.

Over the top I then coated it with a lacquered sealant to protect it further - I can honestly say this process didn't cost me £100 quid and still looks the same after 3yrs - the front inner wheel arches had the same process but the rears I left un-touched and factory.

I also did have a little corrosion cut out by the rear coil spring before the process above as it was mentioned on it's Mot in 2020.

Such a shame, it’s so hard to prevent and even after watching lots of videos and reviews I’m not convinced the rust inhibitors are 100% unless you can grind out all of the rust.

It’s hard on those box sections as you can’t get inside them unless they’re replaced with new so as you’ve mentioned you could just be sealing in the rust.

308’s box sections looked really good on the surface, that said you can’t see inside those sections, sill sections, chassis leg sections ect.

Rust rarely sleeps sadly, i guess it was a bit too far gone when treated. Prob rotted from inside out.

All fixable though.
