Welcome to the sale of my Renault Sport Clio 182 Trophy in Capsicum Red. I am a genuine enthusiast and have owned several 172 & 182’s over the past 5 years. I have been tempted to move on to a 200 for a while now and have the opportunity to purchase one with the spec I have been looking for. I am therefore selling this car and my 182 FF Black Gold to do so, as I lack the space to have them all!

I have spent time updating and refreshing this car in order to keep it as original as possible. I have just installed a new Recaro seat as the driver’s side lower bolster was ripped. I have also changed the heater control panel as these as a common place of wear, plus refreshed the rear suspension and changed many worn parts.

Everything is original apart from the exhaust which is a custom one designed to look very similar to the originals which always rust and fail. The only modification is a set of Mark Fish springs which are a very good quality product. All tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport 3s with good tread all round.

The car is on 136k miles and has had 8 previous owners. DO NOT let the higher mileage put you off as mechanically this car is mint! The belts were just done in 2018 less than 5k miles ago. And the all important front Sachs dampers were re-built last year by Cornering Force with new top mounts added when re-installed. The Mot is valid until February 2020, and the car drives faultlessly. It comes with a large folder of history including past MOT’s.

These cars are now over 14 years old and as such it does have a few age-related marks. The wheels could do with refurbishment and there is slight lacquer peel to the passenger side rear arch, plus a small scuff on the rear bumper. Otherwise just the odd marks here and there in keeping with its age.

Overall this really is a very good original car which has been well maintained over the years. If you are familiar with these cars you will know just how brilliant they are. I have noticed prices have started to rise for original cars and think now is the time to be purchasing one. I have gone from a BMW M3 Competition to an i8 to now a Ferrari in the last 6 months as my daily car; but I have always had a Clio 182 which speaks volumes.

Mint examples cost in excess of £10k with average cars around £6-8k (I have owned a few). This is frankly a cheap way in to Trophy ownership, especially for a car that had all the expensive maintenance work carried out last year.

The car is located by Stansted Airport on the Hertfordshire and Essex border. I am home most of the time so can be flexible for viewings. Any questions please do ask. I also have a lot of spare parts for these cars, some of which could be included by negotiation.

Many Thanks,
Chris
