Hi guys,

Just wondering what the process is for removing the dampers to replace the bump stops.
My strut tops don't have allen key holes (not sure if this is normal or a refurbishment alteration) so unsure if the strut will twist if I just put a socket on it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Rhys

Ask a local garage/ tyre shop to spin the nut off for you.

The shock won`t move on the drive home.

Or, If you are only working at home, invest in a corded 240v impact gun.

HaHa - that was when it was in the middle of it's Resto - I'll guarantee you it's not there now

It was sat on this ramp for over a month with it's bonnet up :(

Rhys.
Not sure why you want to replace the bump stops, as when i renovated the front units, everything was brand new, incl yellow polybushed bump stops, ????
The car also had brand new Renault top mounts...

The strut shafts were the "Rick Perry" DLC coated shafts, so sorry but no allen key hole...
I can post a picture if needed.

Just one of the gaiters has split, want to get it swapped so it's all protected. :)
Bumpstops came with the kit but will probably leave them if they're fine. :)
