no mate thats not right.
(i know what you mean though that diagram we got was, shite)

ok so take it all off.

1.pull the damper rod out allll the way first
3.white washer first!!
4. the the OE bits
5. the litte O ring with the groove over the bit of wire (does that make sense)
6. then the big plain washer

then it looks like your all good. good luck

also the O ring with the groove that covers the wire, needs to sit in the rubber of the OE part. abit of oil and maybe a stainley knife you should have it.

god anyone reading this, who doesn't have these dampers but be like ' what is this kid talking about wire ect.' ha! but so long as you get me thats the main thing.
(do you want my phone number so i can talk you though it?)

so basically the same as pic 6 but the white plastic washer under the black plastic dust cover, bump stop,'rusty cover bit',then you have the tiny clip thats 'into' the damper then on top of that, the small chunky washer, the big flat washer then the rubber piece ?

Many thanks for the help.....Steve

yes!! cracked it.
so the white bit goes on before everything. and when you put on the chunky one try and get it into the rubber, and make sure it 'clips' over the 'wire C'.
post up some pics or whatever and ill have another look.

The White washer is to stop the bump rubbers drawing out the oil from the damper, causing a vacuum on the shaft seal
