I'm surprised nobody on here posted about the poll that Pistonsheads is doing for best Hot Hatch of the 21st Century that it is running.

10 days ago they asked for nominations of cars from 2000 onwards ( so no old 205 GTi or Clio Williams) and it has understandably been a popular discussion reaching 32 pages up to yesterday and various Renault Sport models have been leading the charge in particular the 182 Trophy, 172 Cup and Megane R26.R.

It would be great for the reputation of the Trophy (and can't harm used prices!) if it won so make sure you vote before the 12th.

I agree with you Chris especially as the origins of a hot hatch in the '70s was to provide "Ford Capri / Toyota Celica" Coupe like performance for 4 adults at a cheaper price.
I let my heart rule when voting in the poll though ;) but I will be happy to see the Trophy win - which it is at the moment.
Just need to find garage space so I can buy one soon!

The poll closes on the 12th,this coming Wednesday.

The Trophy looks like it has a pretty good lead at 22% compared to the R26R in second at 14% and the EP3 at 13%.

I was surprised that the EP3 Type-R ranked so highly. Don't get me wrong, I still own one now and l love it... obviously there is still love for it out there in the voting PH community. I won't lie, I'm quite happy with my small trio of cars. :)

I think Renault will be quite pleased with those results, its mad to think cars like the Mk3 Megane RS didnt make it at all...

Plus great cars that are slightly less well known like the Suzuki Swift Sport but you wont please everyone ?

I owned a similar Alien green 200 for 2 years up until the spring this year.
My favourite colour car ever.

Paid £5200 for mine and sold for £6295.
The guy how bought it lives a mile away, shame he has turned it into a boy racer motor now
Ktec windscreen sticker, highly illegal black and very small number plates plus very loud exhaust you get the point.

Your right it really can't hurt used prices and I've just been checking out the R26R and they are all 20k plus yet the clio trophy not even 10k. Can't see it staying this way for long given the result and extra hype.
Now I'm not bothered about selling mine had it 4yrs with no plans to sell but I might take it a bit easier at the ring next year ?

Great to see this. #300 is (sadly) for sale, this can only help. I'll miss Trophy ownership!
