So with a load of new and many old shocks around. What are folks thoughts on painting the comically prone to rust shocks we all have.

Is it acutally wise to repaint them with somthing more resiliant now when they havent started to rust yet?

I sprayed my reshocks with some bilt hammer wax spray last time.

It's always going to be worthwhile giving them a spray of something like the above as long as it's done regularly. Unfortunately they seem to self combust from the inside out around the welds. Lets hope some of the new ones are more like just one of the pair I recently repainted myself.
A tiny bit of surface stuff but miles better than it's brother.IMG_0480.JPG

Couple of years ago I took a spare damper into Halfords to try to match and couldn't, the BG repainted versions are not a match to original, the sets on the group buy seem to have been supplied in two different finishes so short of taking them to a paint shop to code i wouldn't worry too much as long as it is close. If you are going to repaint you will need to take back to metal as the rust will be lurking.

I then treated them with a rust inhibitor and well we'll see.
