painted my plastic boot handle

For some reason my plastic boot handle and roof strips were a darker colour than the rest of the car. Is this a common Trophy problem? I've heard of the plastics going pinkish but these are a deeper red than the rest of the car.
Doesn't look they've been painted in the past either.
I just used an aeresol of capsicum red that I got made up and then lacquered over it. I also painted the little plastic diamond release button which I think looks much better.

I had a spare handle and it was the same colour as mine. It's on the right and is a darker red. On the left is the newly painted handle.




It's a perfect match now.

Sorry but its not for me.

Dont know why but less is more and it just looks like too much red.

It's personal taste of course but I think the red button looks better colour coded.

Agree! Button on mines colour coded. I personally think it smartens it up. And yep over time boot/door handles and roof strips change a different shade of red lol.

The plastic parts are effected more by the sun and turn these parts pink.

Roof strips, Door handles & Boot handle suffers the most.

As said its personal choices and touches and they are not for me but if you like them then thats all that matters.
