Hi all,
Way back on 25th August 2005 it pissed it down! And I went to pick up 'Svnn' from Reg Vardy in Rotherham. Little did I know that 20 years later I would still own him, the feisty little rascal that he his.
At the time Svnn Goran Eriksson was England manager, and YM05 VNN was the only numberplate that meant anything to me, so 'Svnn' he was christened.
I now have a family and a dog that I dont let within 20 feet of No. 210. so the time has come for Svnn to be treasured by a new owner.
I'm a fan of originality so Svnn hasn't been messed with. He's had only necessary changes from OEM spec (a tasteful Snappy trimmed steering wheel, BTM stainless exhaust (the best refined sounding 182 exhaust I have heard), windscreen), has had the dampers refurbed by BG motorsport (2015 including new rods and powder coat), and last had a major service by Diamond Motors in 2017 (including belts). I've had him twenty years so I can tell you every little story of his life. In 2015 whilst the dampers were off I decided to refurb the front end so dropped the subframe and replaced every bush I could find.
Now condition wise, he's pretty mint to be honest. I set about selling him last August and over the winter have done numerous things e.g. stonechips, polished, waxed, door handles airbrushed back to red, new alternator, air-con drain and re-gas (first time since new!! - better than the wifes history of Fords, they've never lasted two minutes), new boot struts (these are the second set), calipers painted black, lanoguard protected fully underneath and in engine bay, sorted out a tiny bit of corrosion on the NS roof-rail) etc. Allsorts really.
There's a very small crack in the NS lower part of the bumper where a rabbit decided to commit suicide one day, and there's also a small crack in the splitter, due to kerb height (i would have made the three point turn if Renault had provided a little more 'lock'
). I'd already spent £125 on a new splitter after the rabbit so I decided to live with my mistake.
Oh and over the last twenty years I've sorted all the renault rattles out too
.
It's never had any bodywork paint, and the wheels are still good enough to not warrant a respray. Although it still £"$!'s me off that I cannot find good re-productions of the Speedline-Corse decals (see attached photo from when the car was new).
Its done 92k, but in all honesty, 99% of these were either doing the M1 to Sheff in the early years or later on, the A38 to Derby. And thats why I decided to SORN him from circa 2017, as I was not enjoying him like he should be enjoyed, and just putting miles on the car. Since 2017 he's done about 600 miles.
So I'll update this post over the coming days with further details but please message/email me if you are interested and I'll give you my mobile number.
The three photos are after his first wash in 2005, I'll upload some current photos soon.
I am based in Sutton-in-Ashfield.
Best Regards,
