Back on with this...

Polished up the tips this afternoon, between the showers!

Trophy_Ex_July25_01.jpg

I'm behind schedule with everything due to a recent family bereavement. However, the Trophy is booked for it's MOT the week after this so thought I'd better get on with finishing this off. Just need to spray and lacquer the boxes now and it's done...

While Jonny Smith has his infamous can of hope, you have your just as powerful,
rattle can(s) of restorative hope Ed ;)

I think you might have a good sideline business going there.

Haha! Cheers Francis. (y)

Hopefully my fettling activities will give it a few more years service. (I’m always on the hunt for more of these original exhausts, but they’re getting rarer & rarer!).

Unreal how well that turned out Ed.
Better than new 👍

I'd say your hands were feeling it after that bit of scrubbing!!
Cheers Francis, it was well worth the elbow grease!

Peeping under the rear bumper is much more gratifying now. :D (y)

I still have the original exhaust, and convinced it's got louder over the last year or so. I'm guessing the internals aren't what they used to be.
They tend to eventually split around where the hanger brackets fix to the boxes, my old one had been getting increasingly 'blowy' in that area.

This "new" one has certainly changed the exhaust note somewhat, more of a rasp between 2-4k revs on a part throttle, which is more like it used to be. But generally it still sounds louder than they were when they were new. Which is a bit odd, but not so loud as to be anti-social.

Top job Ed 👍

I can see you sitting in the garden on a warm sunny evening, cup of tea/cold beer/ice-cream
in hand, pure contentment, looking at the perfect set of exhaust cans, glistening in the sunshine

Job done.
