No Pilot Sport 4 tyres?

I might have this wrong but I've done some digging and it looks like Pilot Sport 4 tyres are not being produced to fit the Trophy, this is the 205 45 16 W. I'm guessing this is not a size/spec they can sell to the masses?

I am about to refurb my alloys, and as two tyres have low tread and one has a egg shape on the inside, I thought I'd get a new set of rubber fitted all round. I have searched the forum and found a mixture of opinions about this subject. I intend to use the car in good weather and maybe the odd track session. With that in mind I thought I'd see what you guys would go for?

My thoughts up until now have been:

Exaltos - Not available
Pilot Sport 3 - Discountined but available (for now), if one tyre was damaged in the future it might be an issue getting a replacement PS3??? I would then be running one odd tyre.
Pilot Sport 4 - Apparently not being manufactured in the Trophy size
Good Year Eagle F1, Asymmetric 2 - Sounds like most Trophy drivers hate these with a passion? Soft side walls?
UniRoyal RainSport3 - Not a daily drive so no need for these

So my shortlist looks like this...

Yokohama Advan AD08R - I like the look of these, tell me if I'm wrong?
Hankook K120 Ventus V12 Evo 2 - Also a possibility, I know a few owners on here have enjoyed them.
Continental SportContact2 - Don't know much about them but a strong brand. I thought they had a SportContact5 but I can't find them for the Trophy rims.

I found an Evo tyre test that gave good information but the test was carried out on 18" wheels! Here's the link:

I've just had the Sachs refurbished, new gaiters and new suspension on the back with springs all round, so I really want to get my tyre choice correct after all the work and cost so far! Look forward to hearing your suggestions.

Recently fitted Asymmetric 2's and I'm impressed, prefer them to the PS3's on my other set of wheels.

I'm a big fan of the Federal 595 RS-R's. I liked them so much I left them on the car for daily driving (originally I bought them for general track day use). I find them fantastic in the dry and ok in the wet (although you need to take care with standing water). Driving to the conditions in adverse weather hasn't presented any problems so I'll probably stick with them for a while.

(I do have a spare set of PS3's on another set of Turinis if I fancy swapping back - I find them to be a fantastic all-round tyre so it's a bit of a shame if they are discontinued).

This news about Michelin giving up on the Renault 182 is very disappointing. Very odd TBH. Both firms are French.

Then perhaps they feel (completely incorrectly in my view) that the only people still driving ten to fifteen year old cars are chavs who cannot afford good tyres and really don't care unless the tyre is cheap. I'd surmise that 80%+ of 182 drivers do care about tyres a lot and want a quality tyre. Clio.net now seems to mostly consist of middle aged blokes with plenty of cash to spend that run 182's as toys.

First a cars handling is designed around a tyre (the Exalto), then they shove all users of that specialist tyre to their mid range performance tyre (PS3) now they don't even produce a product that fits when they move to PS4. Boo to Michelin.

And since when did most Trophy drivers hate the Goodyears? They're ruddy brilliant.

Just purchased a set of Hankook V12's for mine as there were no reasonably priced PS3s about.

Will have a pair of AD08Rs with minimal wear on, going spare if they're of interest to anyone?

The Yoko AD08R tyre is superb (have had mine fitted since Feb) and ideally suited to generally dry weather driving and occasional track use IMO. Get's my vote!

After my Pilot Sport 3's were all 4 damaged, I ordered a set Dunlop Sportmaxx RT today.

I like my Dunlop winter tyres and will report on the Sportmaxx soon.

Not planning on going any further north than Oxford before September

How did all 4 tyres get damaged?/
How do the Sportmaxx RT compare to the Ps3 in terms of sidewall stiffness and feedback ?

I fitted AD08r's and have to say they are amazing on this car.
Even in the wet no issues at all.. and in the dry a good step better than a PS3
