Due to the recent issues with continued bugs in the old forum software, I have moved ClioTrophy.co.uk on to a new and much more reliable forum platform.

Please report any bugs and issues in this thread.

Many thanks for your patience,

Nik

Thanks Nik, great work. Good to see the forum back up and running again, as it's a superb resource for owners.

Wow. Away for two weeks and all change. Guess it was necessary due to underlying platform problems? Nice one for keeping the place alive.

Not a massive fan of the UI and UX though. Colour, rendering, font and basic architecture fine, but I really liked being able to drop into the home page/forum page and see the most recent topics on the prior version.

That seems to have gone now, and very little information is contained within the screen with this version, therefore one has to do a lot of scrolling and navigation to consume information. Might get used to it, but just seems a little messy and not quite as easy an UI/UX to engage with as the last.

Surely all this is done with the 'What's New?' tab?

I know that's all I use, I never browse into forum sections, it's whats new or a search if i'm looking for something specific.

The guys who develop Xenforo are pretty big on UX so i'm a little suprised you find it worse than a 10 year old vbulletin based forum but hopefully you'll find it better after some time to settle in to it.

Yea, it is kind of, also the recent posts on the home page, but there are only four to six things included. I agree that the what's new section is more comprehensive than recent posts, I simply liked the fact there were more listed on the old platform, the simplicity allowed the reader to digest the information in mili seconds. Maybe that was because I was used to it.

I'm sure this new version will be great overtime and become more familiar. I see Clio197/200.net has also changed. If this updated platform has stopped the issue with being logged out when taking more than five minutes to write a post I'll be happy. That was such a pain.

Having spent an evening using this version it's clear that What's New is only completely new threads.

New posts on the home page is the modern equal to what was the 'overview' page on the last version. That had the most recent responses to things in a single location and there were eight to ten listed. In this version new posts on the home page is only four or so and not the lovely single resource that was all you needed in the past.

This forum has way less traffic than others, so checking into the overview page every so often was all one needed to do to keep up to date.

Anyway, thanks for all your efforts in the migration and otherwise all is great.

Hi Nik, not sure how 'new' this issue is but it's new to me ;)

The owners register when viewed via Tapatalk is no longer in number order but is instead sorted by the most recent post.

No major problem on its own but when you can't search for a three digit number it's a bit of a challenge.

Forum config or Tapatalk setting, just sharing in case it can be fixed.

Thanks

Ah, seeing this thread reminds me, I could not see a way to mass delete posts in my mail box, i could mass highlight them, but then could not work out how to delete :(
