Hi All,

New Trophy owner here and also a new vehicle owner in the UK after moving here almost 2 years ago. I'm after some help regarding a few basic recommendations to get work done on the car. I'm after some guidance on the following areas.

- Renault Specialist (for servicing etc, do know of AW Motorworks and BeanieSport however anything more within London would be ideal)
- Tyre/wheel alignment shop
- Self Service Carwash

I'm happy to drive out to anywhere for the right level of service/care as my Trophy will only be used on weekends.

Thank you in advance!

Cheers.

Hi and welcome I am sure you will enjoy the car.

In West London I use Andrew Crichton who used to be a mechanic for one of the Clio Cup teams from memory and then the specialist at R Sport in Wimbledon.
He started up on his own and also does the R Sport for Renault West at Hanger Lane. Did a nice job on rebuilding my engine (see my build post) and rates are reasonable. He also does interior, suspension, bodywork etc. And takes pride in his work. As with all self employed specialists they have their own timetable.
For the more technical electrical ECU stuff you may need a rolling road type specialist such as Engine Dynamics who are out East.

If near Stanstead then Mark Fish seems to be the Goto specialist.

There has been a few names move around over the past few years, so would be good to see if this post had a few contributors to get the latest sense on what works. Also the ClioSport Forum can be useful.

Best

Welcome to Trophy ownership.

I can highly recommend Alex at AW Motorworks. I make the 2.5 hour journey (each way) from Portsmouth to go and see Alex for work on my car. My Trophy went to him recently to have a large amount of work and modifications carried out (replacement gearbox, complete brakes and suspension refresh, various upgraded parts). Great guy, takes pride in his work, and reasonable rates.

I haven't used Mark Fish yet, but have spoken on the phone to him several times; always very helpful and a very nice chap. Ordered my coilover suspension setup through him actually. I know he is highly regarded within the Clio/Trophy world.

Also, for wheel alignment, ask Alex at AW Motorworks who he uses. Can't remember off the top of my head who he uses, but when my car went to Alex a month ago, he had the tracking/alignment done there, and I have never had a car track so true/straight. The steering wheel is bang on centre (normally always slightly off!) and they also know what they are doing with camber/caster settings etc if you want anything like that dialled in. I will look through my paperwork to see if I can find the company that did it. Highly recommended!
