Well 369 was in for its MOT today but its failed on the two front tyres, Both Michelin PS2's. Are most people fitting PS'3s these days or are there better options?

I`ve read complaints that the PS3`s have a tendency to crack as they age, regardless of mileage.

A number of 172/182 owners I know have switched to Avon ZV7`s as a hard wearing alternative with decent levels of grip, wet or dry.
They also come in at £60 as opposed to £100 a corner in 205/45r15.
Fitted as a set of 4, 30 months ago, mine will need replacement this year, as they have covered 26k miles, which included swopping front to back at 15k, and I`m going to have another set.

The picture is of the cracking on the PS3`s at 6 years old, though it has been reported earlier.

If you still have PS2`s on the rear, they must be getting on a bit, and I would seriously consider replacing all 4 tyres.

It’s cracking on both my PS2’s which has made me fail the MOT. It does have PS3’s on the back and there both over 5 yrs old now and both perfectly fine.

No brainer then, PS 3 is a benchmark tyre.
Double up to a full set.

PS2 or PE2? Mine (PE2s) are circa 2008 (yeah, I know...) and they're like new the way they handle or look (no cracking).

I have PS3s as a wet/winter tyre. They're pretty good for the most part. Normally scare the life out of me for the first few drives when i go back onto them at the end of the summer after taking the stickys off lol

I still have two mint PE2s on a couple of my spare rims that look absolutely fine, not sure I’d want to really push them though.

Just put 4 ps3’s on mine today actually. The previous ps3’s were cracking at 5 years old being lightly used and garaged. It’s the softer compound I’d imagine

Where did you get those from, had a quick look today and couldn't see PS3's available anywhere.

Kwik fit for just under £400 and apparently some wireless earbuds if I want them haha... they got delayed a few days as they had to get stock
