Could anyone recommend a reliable and trustworthy garage to carry out a full service, belts, aircon refurb and diagnostics for some warning lights on my 182 Trophy in Scotland? The care needs some well deserved TLC and I want to get it mechanically sound. May consider a brake upgrade but apart from that want to keep it as standard as possible. Any info on big brake upgrades would be helpful. I hoped to get a kit to fit all four corners for balance and aesthetics.

Many thanks
Brian

Hi Brian, I used SWR in Stirling last year for belts and brakes. Very happy with the service and they’re Renault Sport specialists .

I'm actually in Dublin but lived in Glasgow and still have family there. Figured there would be greater understanding and expertise in

SWR are the only people to use in the central belt.
Vast knowledge of Renault sports and motorsport in general.

I would strongly suggest that you give them a bell and book in as "I Think" they are around 2/3 weeks to get booked in.

Safe to say there aren't too many Trophies on Irish soil I'd imagine.

You will be able to enjoy some of those great driving Scottish roads on the way over and back 😉

I suppose you are wright. I haven't seen another one yet. It gets some really positive and enthusiastic responses. I have driven all over Scotland and done the NC500 three times on four wheels and twice on two. Truly fantastic roads and scenery. Have you driven it yet?

I believe there was another one down towards the South of the country but I think that is now for sale with a dealer.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to make my way over to Scotland yet,its on my bucket list though.

I'd also need a car that was able to live up to the challenge of those roads 😉
By all accounts, its both an unforgettable experience for both driving pleasure and the stunning scenery.

It's truly incredible. I think you could enjoy the trip in any car. It wouldn't have to be particularly high performance. just something you can have fun in. What are you driving?

Very true,I just have a Mini and a 205 Gti.

I did come close to buying a Trophy about 5 years ago up North, but it was just too much at the time.
But I'm still dipping in and out of here, lurking 😉😂

SWR are an absolute no-brainer IMO, Michael there is brand new.

I've been using them for the major stuff since I got mine in 2014 and that was travelling all the way through from Carnoustie and now Stonehaven.

Open Saturday mornings as well which is handy for drop-off/collection without having to take a holiday.

205 Gti would be perfect for the trip. If its reliable and in good working order. you would have a blast
