Looking to replace my GT86 that was stolen in August. The problem I have is that I'm 6'8" and not certain I'll fit! I have previously driven a friend's 172 cup but that was a long time ago and I can't remember what it was like for room.

I'm planning on going to try and find a 2005 Clio at a local dealer to see if I fit. Are there any major differences to consider with the Trophy's Recaros? Are they likely to cause me problems with driving position?

I'm pretty open to what Trophy I might buy. I'd be happy with one that needs some TLC but equally I'd pay more for one that doesn't need any work! Max budget probably about 8k.I'd prefer a reasonably standard car. I'm based just outside of Glasgow but would be prepared to travel.

Cheers Tim.
Yes as im 6ft 5" tall, and a lot of my height is in my legs, I too can struggle getting comfy in cars.
Ive had no trouble whatsoever in the T.
Some folk have seen me getting in and out of it, and make lots of what they think are comical comments, but once in ,I have no problems...
The Recaros are great, even after a full 700 mile 2 day trip round Wales I was still comfy...
The only mod I have done is to get an extender for the steering column, as when the seat is pushed back, the wheel is a long way away, and the driving position wasn't great. I got the extender off the clio sport forum...

I seem to remember doing the same as you and trying another car out, a standard 182 with softy seats. They do have more padding than the recaros, but the recaros are great...

I hope you find the right car for you. Enjoy....

Along with the steering wheels extension you could always drop the seats by another few millimetres by undoing the seats and removing the standard spacer and putting in a washer or two the bolt everything back up.

I work in East Kilbride so I could take the Trophy to work on Tuesday if you wanted to try it out?

You are a legend! When and where would suit to meet? I work in town and get home just before 6.

I'm off from Friday 23rd through to Jan 4th so could meet up sometime then if that's more convenient for you? We still have my wife's car so I'm more than happy to come to you.
