I've wanted a Trophy for a long time and been a "lurker" on here for a while too!

I'm now in a position to be able to go for one :)

So, I'm looking for a nice, well maintained example with lowish mileage as I plan to keep it.

I'd welcome advice as to what to look for and to be pointed in the direction of any suitable cars please.

Looking forward to finally being a Trophy owner!

Cheers :)

Hi and welcome

Just make sure its had the belts pulleys camshaft oil seals and dephaser has been changed recently as its a big-ish and expensive job.

Also check that the sachs front dampers are fitted for a start and find out if they have been rebuilt and by whom.

Also check the boot struts are the correct ones. Tailgate should only open up half way compared to a normal clios.

The rest of the checks are the same as a normal car really.

Should get a very decent one for £8k mate. I bought mine 2 months ago for £4k, high mileage though at 123k but mechanically sound

Good luck with the search mate. You've got a good budget to play with so should be able to find a real nice example.

Thanks, going to look at Andy (Miller's) one tomorrow.

Amazing buy if you end up getting Andy's Trophy! Not seen a cleaner Trophy and it has been meticulously maintained, Andy has genuinely spared no expense on this car during his ownership.

If I had the available funds then I would be buying it myself! You won't find a better example if you are wanting a Trophy.

Good luck with the viewing.

I almost bought this last week, beautiful condition and highly maintained. Surely has to be one of the best on here.

The only thing is that the owners put me off, I just wished it was low but then again most will buy on Condition and history.

Good luck and I'm pretty sure you would be laughing on the way back!!!

Having posted this post I'm now sadly having to withdraw it :(

After much discussion we've come to the conclusion that running three cars isn't the right thing for us to be doing at the moment.

My sincere apologies to Andy for backing out of our arranged viewing of your fantastic example; no doubt I'll regret it!
