Personally I'd re stripe it!
If it was an addition that was made to the car out of the factory, yes it would be 'chavvy'. However given the stripes came on the car, I think they are a cool addition and finishes the car off perfectly!
Not many cars can get away with having look at me stripes on but this car is one of them!

Decision made Dan, picking up a new set of stripes tomorrow :grinning:
I saw a Vauxhall Vectra the other day with stickers on it that were like tears/rips with Union Jacks showing through. Also had big black stripes from nose to tail
Apologies to anyone that likes that crap on here but that sort of stuff is the definition of chavness for me (the flag also makes you look like a racist too IMO)
Factory fitted stripes harking back to racing heritage on a sports model is perfectly acceptable to me

Defo with stripes.. looks ace and as Hollio says your walking into 10 years of possible paint change issues.
I don't think it is chav myself. For me chav is fake or displaying a lack of taste or integrity
If someone put stripes on a Trophy it would be chav, if they put them on a racing blue 182 it would not be chav. I realise that it's a fine line however
Are stripes on a Dodge Viper, a Ford GT40 or a Shelby Cobra chav? Of course not!
Are they chav on a diesel Vauxhall Vectra? Of course they are!

Well, debate over, new stripes fitted. I've done the whole of the car with the rotary polisher, removed the rear badges to do a proper job on the tailgate and put them back on with that marvellous adhesive film that only sticks to the back of the letters.
New stripes on the bonnet and tailgate, I've had the wheels wet painted on this one instead of powder coated.
Very pleased with the car, there's not a stone chip or ding anywhere on it and the paint finish is fantastic
Only job left is to sort the engine bay. Upper plenum, fuel rail cover and engine mount going for vapour blasting. I fancy doing the engine top cover in a crinkle finish paint. See how it goes.

Vs the standard 182, the Cup suspension has a lower ride height, stiffer springs (20% front, 15% rear) stiffer dampers (20% front, 10% rear), strengthened front wheel hub carriers and revised steering geometry

Looks great with the stripes on and love that reg
