Knocking steering wheel

There's a knocking sound when turning the steering wheel from side to side. I can feel it slightly in the steering wheel and under my foot in the drivers footwell. Any thought of what it might be please?

Could be the uj getting worn
The uj connects between the rack and column
Check that first

Yeah ive also had this problem over the last week, ill let you no if i find first

Took it to the mechanic today and he thinks it's due to the car not being driven for a long time. He said it's the steering fluid... and told me to do a few full locks and drive it a bit. It is better than yesterday when I moved the car after quite a while.
