I’ve recently switched insurance company and now have agreed values on a couple of my cars , is there any way to get a valuation of my car done from the trophy register. Trophy #57

Unfortunately there is no easy way, Neil. :( This is a problem most of us Trophy owners have when it comes to insurance time. It seems that there are not as many insurers out there [willing to provide an Agreed Value policy on the Trophy] as there used to be; hence it tends to be a case of trying round a few different places and seeing what they offer.

I know there are guys on here with AV policies so they may be able to share the details of who they are insured with. I am with Greenlight but I don't think they offer AV on the Trophy these days.

The broker I am with is happy enough to do it if I get a letter from the owners club or a clio specialist.

I didnt know if the reps of this site could provide that, similar to what the porsche club and rsoc do.
Basically headed paper stating with the market they value the car at ...

Yup, I got the official valuation through Porsche a couple of weeks ago for my Agreed Value policy with the GT4. (y)

If @Nik can't help then there are a few Clio specialists who can!

Just do it on an ordinary policy, save some money. Really the only time it counts is if you crash it to the degree that it’s written off .....in reality how likely is it when balanced against the number of miles you do. I pay £115 to insure mine, the last renewal quote I got with greenlight with AV was £350. That said I think I’ve done about 30 miles in it in last 2 years

My company insures my gt4 and the trophy so not really much extra for agreed value and if the worst should happen I would rather the car written off and a decent pay out. I also get the option of track day cover with this company so makes sense over Admiral who I use to be with.

I've asked for £7000 so just need proof from a recognised source that to buy a replacement sould cost that on average.

@neil a

I have a guy local to Edinburgh who works for the Institute of motor engineers and he comes out to your house and dose a full valuation, checks the car over with a fine tooth comb along with all the paperwork and history along with any detailed work pictures of work carried out (Pictures on laptops)

He can charge up to £350 per inspection but at the end of it he will write a report and give you a valuation and a certificate which all UK Insurers need to go by.

Adrian Flux told me that for them to go above £6000 they would need a certificate from the " Institute of motor engineers"
