Hi there! I'm hopefully hopping into a 182 trophy in the near future, currently 20y/o and will just have reached 3 years NCB by the time I have a car.

I've had a look on comparison sites for insurers and the quotes from the likes of Admiral seem to be £540 at the moment, but they can change by about £100 week on week when I check (a little scary!).

So I was wondering if you guys have any experience/opinions on who I should get in touch with for quotes?

Thanks very much!

When I was a bit younger Admiral were always the ones for me. No one else would come close and £540 doesn't seem too bad to me? Just be warned that they're not great to deal with, make sure you declare any mods and do the quote 'properly' as they'll use any excuse if the worst were to happen. On the flip side they insured me on an Aston Vantage when I was 23 for about £750 when most others wouldn't even quote!

I found the specialist brokers normally start from 24 and upwards, they will do much better quotes (Pace Ward, Adrian Flux etc) but you're probably still a bit too young for them!

Thanks - good advice. I've been with Admiral for my 3 years so far and thankfully haven't had any reason to get in touch with them. I suppose if I drive the Trophy gently... (Is that possible in a trophy!??)

Absolutely not! My Trophy is faster than my current Vantage, honestly :)

Common insurers I’ve seen include Keith Michaels, Greenlight, Flux, Sky, Brendacre, and all the well known brands.

Consider asking if they’ll offer an agreed value policy for peace of mind should the worst happen. The last thing any owner wants is a battle to secure a reasonable payout.

That quote seems very good though, good luck with everything ?

£540 fully comp seems like a bargain at the present day rip off prices...

If you have mods, i'd look at greenlight and adrian flux for comparisons - no point if it's not modded in anyway.
