Quite a variety of cars for sale in this auction - I'd say their is some long term profit on some items with-in, so which would you take and why Chaps.

I was close to buying one back in 2009 and ended up buying a cheap Avensis as I bought my first flat instead.

Loving this instrument panel - how many dials.

Do you know what it's from without looking through the line-up - 🤔🤔

You can't answer Ed :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Just curious, the write up for that Focus says it's coming from the previous owner after 7 years of ownership, yet it also says it's only had one registered owner?

Surely it would have more than one,if the last owner only had it for 7 years?

Am I missing something obvious or am I just being that extra bit thick...🙄😂😂

What would you buy Francis with your hard earned cash

Tough one Nick....

I would love more than a few from that list, but if money was no object I'd have to select a few (not being greedy or anything 😉 )

Oak Green Mk2 Gti 16V, lovely looking car

GP1, like to see if they are as fun and good as reports say

Either of these Williams, W1 or W2

And to finish my imaginary wish list off...a not quite, full phat Trevor, minus the Lexus style lights 😉

I could easily add another 10 cars, but I better stop now

Yes, the Oak Green 16v looks very nice and would get my money. I had a Tornado Red back in the day.

The Mini GP looks nice but both Clio Williams look a little tatty?

Some of my mine -

A lot of car for the money - 3.2s with great miles and low owners - good colour and spec -

This also looks a lovely car from the pictures - they are really a car making moves at the minute due to the retro styling -

Very safe money at the estimate - 1 owner and only 28000 miles - if you made this a minter I'd say you would have loads of summer fun for no money - I do love these wheels too -

And then this thing - even though I would'nt buy it no where near that estimate - but very cool.

Love the Strada too with those bucket seats -

One of the best seats in the auction in my view are the RS1600i seats - my Dad had a new Black one in 1983 - I was 13 at the time.

I like your selection Nick. You like open tops?

The interior of the 944 is incredible!

Not really even though I've just bought a nearly new Z4 for the summer -

I've picked my choices on value for money - you can really spend fortunes on car's but do they put more of a smile on your face ???

If that 1 owner Z4 comes at 5k it's a bargin in my view -

My old one below with the same alloys

Looks nice. I've never driven a Z4, closest was a passenger ride in EVO's long termer with Ian E driving... I was impressed with the engine and how it went 'round Bedford.

Lovely looking Z4 Nick.

BMW's Z cars have always seemed to be a bit of a curiosity.

They've never seemed to have hitten that revered status for the best handling convertibles, like say a Boxster.
This despite the fact BMW having a pretty long history of giving their more run of the mill saloons for example,a real sense of driving involvement.

And of course,so many of their legendary M cars, are also based on more humdrum regular coupes and saloons.
So you'd imagine they'd have no problems at all doing the same with a ground up sports car designed chassis, but they never seem to manage it.

I've always loved the look of the Z3/Z4.
Even the latest Z4,is quite a good looking car, especially in that stunning purple colour.

Totally agree Francis - their no Boxster as all, but for a bit of summer fun and a car that's well screwed together it's a no brainer at 5k with that pedigree - that's if it only makes that money.

Love the Purple too on the new shape, they have just brought out a new Green with I think looks stunning too.

I've been trying in vain for the last hour or so to find a pic of my Z4 Coupe to illustrate my ramble. But try as I might my search has been fruitless. Back in 2007 I think it was, I chopped in my low mileage (condition like new), 2 year old RB 182 Cup for a BMW Z4 3.0 Si Coupe in silver over black leather... It proved ultimately to be a bit of a folly in retrospect, I was into my thirties and wanting to finally become a grown up, 1st marriage, a nice house, a sportscar on the drive, an attempt to wean myself off old Mini's and hot hatchbacks. The Z4 became for me a perplexing car, I loved the way it looked, that sonorous straight six with certainly enough grunt to bring a smile in a straight line, it was a genuine low 5's to 60 car - which back then was more than brisk enough. But, and it was a big but for me, the handling and, as I found out on a mountain pass somewhere near the Swiss border, the brakes weren't up to the standard I'd become accustomed to with some of my previous machinery.

So, yes Francis, I'd say dynamically, for me it fell quite a way short of the mark.

That said, I'm not saying I didn't enjoy it, it was a fabulous car at 7th tenths, wafting along and Christ I had some great times in it... But when I prematurely decided enough was enough, the financial sting from the foray into grown-up-ness was bitter to swallow and when it went, I didn't miss it at all. It was perhaps, the right car to highlight a certain time in my life, which I look back on now and think I was maybe a bit of a pillock.

A few years later, it was such a relief to gravitate back to the hot hatches, they defined the early years of my driving career and I think that's why I'm still such a sucker for them - and those old Mini's. Perhaps some might say I'm regressing... :ROFLMAO:

@photo_ed your way of putting things is always spot on, that's the word I was trying
to (unsuccessfully) use to describe what I've read so many times and in so many reviews
of the Z3/4's handling and road manners, perplexing.

On paper and in the metal, they look like they have the perfect recipe, good looks, relatively small size
and the option of a lovely straight six powering it along.

But they just cant seem to finish off the recipe in the handling department.

Anyway, apologies for going completely off the topic of your thread Nick, back to business ;)
