Head unit

Hi folks, my standard cd unit is skipping etc. when warm. Has anybody fitted alternatives? Thanks

I went with a Blaupunkt unit as it has a late 90s and early 00s look and feel. Main benefits are bluetooth, hands free calls and DAB.

I have the re released Blaupunkt Frankfurt Dab unit, expensive…but sure it’s only money!. Same as Mike says, Bluetooth, hands free and DAB plus you can change the display colour to get a good match with the oe Clio dash colour too. To me it looks premium and like it should always have been there

That does look very nice Chipper, Ideally I'd want something that plays CD's though.

Blaupunkt sell a few different model that has a CD mech. I have the non CD version of this model in #256

Thanks for the pic, do steering column controls still work with it? Did you have to have an adapter cable to make it work?

They should work but I forgot to fit the connects2 adaptor

It's on the winter to do list to remedy.

Really like the Frankfurt Dab unit. Noob question - what version of Connects2 would I need for it?

So I've spoken to a shop online about a blaupunkt unit ( with a CD player) they say that retro head units don't support the stalk controls? They sent me a link which has a more modern pioneer but more or less for the same price. I did ask about the connects2 wiring also but seemed to make no difference.

The blaupunkt unit has a stalk control jack and I've just picked up the connects2 kit. I should know if it works in a week or two.
