We've had a thread about Trophy mileage, and we've had a thread that resulted in some interesting results when enquiring about owners' ages.

So... I thought I'd just put it out there and ask what folks do day-to-day to fund their Trophy addiction. Judging by the results from the owners' ages discussion I expect a few may be retired :p

I'm a geek unfortunately; but I can also act perfectly respectably in social engagements when I have to :p

I've been a computer programmer for a long, long time and specialised in the development of 3D graphics technology / software for the games industry. I then took this knowledge and moved into the defence industry where I continued to work on R&D, simulations and visualisation systems. I made the decision to go self-employed a little over a year ago and now I run my own business (still working as a computer programmer / software engineer). Rock and roll.

Royal Navy Marine Engineer for 13 years and then 10 years as Chief Engineer on various superyachts. Now shore based superyacht build, support and management. Been an interesting and largely unplanned career path.

Love spannering on the Clio and my Lotus, half the fun for me is tinkering with & maintaining the cars.

I worked for a Renault main dealer for just over 7 years and now work for a large nationwide tow bar and trailer company.

I also have my own business called Grease Monkey Automotive which deals with everything on wheels basically. We have been labelled as Renault Specialist and have customers coming in from over 100 miles away already and we hope to keep expanding that distance with an ever growing reputation. Me and my business partner are currently building a 3,500 square foot garage ourselves which will be the base of operations for all the work carried out and the main building where all parts are supplied from. We supply aftermarket parts all across the UK as we are dealers for all sorts of aftermarket parts manufacturers from AirRex to Powerflex and from KW Suspension to Pipercross.

As soon as the building work is complete we plan on leaving our day jobs and doing the monkey work full time. Rome wasnt built in a day and all that.

Would be appreciated if you guys would follow my page on Facebook too [emoji4]

I'm a Wind Turbine Technician. I work on an offshore wind farm carrying out annual service work and fault finding. I've been doing it for 6 years now. It pays rather well and due to weather conditions and my shift pattern I'm virtually semi retired.
