"The oxygen sensors will not be happy as the amount of back pressure in the exhaust would have substantially changed, and this normally causes the illumination of a warning light, and I think it puts the injection in a downgraded mode."

Its the bit in bold i was worried about.

I didn't ask him the question, i just found it whilst looking through the site.

So is it all OK to run the car with the light on? Does the ECU change anything to compensate?
