For sale is my 2005/55 RenaultSport Clio 182 Trophy. If you’re reading this then you probably know what this car is about.

Finished in Capsicum Red, the Trophy was the last of the Clio 182 run and came with Recaro front seats, larger rear spoiler from the acclaimed V6 model and the all important Sachs front remote reservoir dampers. They were limited to 500 UK cars and 50 designated to the Swiss market.

The Trophy is renowned as one of the best hot hatches of all time, with magazines such as EVO giving it large praise and ranking it number 3 in one of their Car of the Year reviews, and number 7 in their Top100 drivers car even ahead of the Ferrari F50. Evo’s own Harry Metcalfe even bought the Trophy he reviewed whilst still out on the test drive for it, running it alongside his Pagani Zonda.

This is the second Trophy that I’ve had the pleasure of owning and no doubt I’ll regret selling this one like the last, as well as the other two Clio’s that I’ve owned.

This car in particular has covered 85,500 miles, 18,000 of which have been covered by myself in the past 13 months. Mostly motorway miles sadly but great fun all the same. This mileage will rise slightly due to daily use but only by a few miles per day.

It has full service history, with a massive folder of invoices. I have carried out three oil changes in my ownership, roughly every 5000 miles to keep things fresh. The all important timing belt change was last done in June 2014 and is not due again until 2019.

The Sachs dampers have been refurbished twice, both by BG Motorsport who are regarded as the best people to do this service. The first time in March 2010 and the second in June 2014, with invoices to show this.

The car has also been remapped by RS Tuning of Leeds back in 2009, with a rolling road graph to show the results at a respectable 179bhp. This doesn’t add much power but gives a smoother power delivery across the rev range.

The clutch (Valeo) was changed back in May 2016 at 69,000 miles by Mark Black at Midland Renault Specialist, a very highly regarded specialist of RenaultSports. Unfortunately I’ve lost the invoice for this but I’m sure Mark will be more than happy to clarify this information.

I’ve also fitted a set of Xenon headlights that I had left over from my previous Trophy, a nice upgrade as standard the car came with halogen headlights.

In July 2016 I had an exhaust made by CGR Automotive at a cost of just over £800, which itself is a work of art. Well worth giving them a look, they usually make exhausts for LMP2 race series cars amongst other supercars. This also incorporates a 200 cell sports cat.

A former owner has had solid engine mounts fitted to the car, as well as fitting power flex bushes to the lower doggone mount.

I have recently refreshed the brakes, with Brembo drilled front discs, Brembo pads all round and Pagid rear discs that incorporate the rear wheel bearing. I was also forced to fit a new NSR calliper a few weeks ago due to the old one leaking whilst fitting the new rear brakes. I also have a set of HEL braided lines waiting to be fitted that will be included in the sale as I won’t have chance to fit them before sale.

A new set of Hankook Ventus V2 EVO tyres were fitted last August, with approx 4.5mm left on the fronts and 6mm on the rears.

The previous owner bought a brand new steering wheel from Renault 2 years ago, so theres none of the famous melting issues that the Clio 182 steering wheels suffer from over time.

There’s also an ITG Maxogen induction kit fitted, which were approx £400 when new!

The overall condition of the car is great, with a few expected minor paint chips on the front but no other marks or dents on the car. The wheels could do with a rerun in all honesty as a result of kerning.

The car has been a real pleasure to own, and I’m glad I bought another. I’ll regret selling this, but all good things must come to an end as I look for something slightly bigger.

I’m in no rush to sell, nor do I really want to sell so I won’t entertain silly offers as I’ll just keep the car until the right offer is received. Some may think the price is high, but it is inline with the condition, age and the current market for these cars which will no doubt carry on to rise in value, with 3 low mileage examples for sale for over £17,000 each.

If I’ve missed anything that you’d like to know, please get in touch.

Looks tidy... what's going on with your drivers floor mat? high heels or a hungry mouse?

Reduced to £8195 as I've bought the replacement, so it's sat gathering dust now.

These are not as easy to sell as we 1st think sometimes :tongueout:, i hated having mine sat about, coming and seeing it all lonely :tongueout:
419 sold within the first day of it being posted on here, 71k 3 owners, was cheap with that milage at £6400. Sort of brings the bar down a bit when you can still pick them up for a reasonable price.

Price lowered to £7495. Getting ready to move house in the new year, and would like the money to tart the garage up a little.

Good news but bad news Greg. Glad it worked out for you in the end though pal. Never know you may end up as a 3 time owner some time [emoji3]

Maybe I’ll be the first 3 time owner? I hope so, one day.
