You have arguably a grands worth of spare parts there which would value the car at £7k, waaay too cheap, if that doesn’t go in a day or so I’ll be surprised it looks a good example.

Thanks all for your kind words about the car.
It will be missed but there is reason to my madness for selling 053, I'm looking to make a big change in my life and liquidating all assets is the first part.
The current global situation has created a need to live life attitude with me so I am taking the bull by the horns!!

If anyone is wondering what is in the boot it is one of the spare wheels, I don't think the additional weight is really affecting the performance.

Hi All,
053 is now sold.

I will leave it up to the new owner to identify themselves if they so wish.
I will not share any details of the sale, so please do not ask

Thank you all for your support over the last 5 years, it has been entertaining and very educational!!

A selling price is always the right one if it suits the seller which clearly in this case it does. Hopefully the car will have gone to a genuine buyer and not a flipper which at the price was always likely.

certainly this car is the bargain of the year for me.

Damn, I’m going to be back in the market for one as of Wednesday when I complete on a house purchase. Gutted I’ve missed this; what a great car at a very good price! Buyer got a good deal.

Hi All,

It was myself that bought the car from Brian and it arrived this morning. For those wondering, I paid full asking price as I believed it was priced pretty sensibly.

I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do with it yet, but after recently selling out of my company and now technically being unemployed, I’ve got some spare time on my hands. So it’s currently sat in my garage next to number 172.

Brian is a great guy and he’s really looked after the car - but it does need quite a bit of work to get it to a level I’m happy with before I decide what I’m going to do with it.
Having been over it again now it’s back at my house the list is as follows;

- It’s overdue a service and also needs cambelt etc

- it has the ESP, ABS and SERV light on so that needs investigating. I’ve already checked the brake pedal sensor and it’s not that so I’m suspecting it might be an ABS sensor.

- it needs a new bonnet painted and fitted. The one that’s on there has a lot of ripples and chips and having had a closer look at the spare, it’s probably cheaper to buy a new one than have either of them repaired and painted.

- the passenger seat back rocks so that needs to be looked at

- there are the usual dents down the side and there is one partifucally small and sharp on above the rear passenger side window which looks difficult to get out.

- the boot lid has two large scratches in so that’ll need to be painted too.

- I also need to find the little black stickers that go on the bumper

- also, needs a battery as I’m not sure what happened, but after it came off the delivery truck it was left running on the drive and turned it off and it wouldn’t go again. Plugged in a charger and it won’t charge past 60% so I’m guessing at a cell and hoping it’s not the alternator.

so yes, I’ve bought the car. I’m not a trader and I’m not a flipper so the plan is to get it done to my standard and then decide what I do with it.

with what needs doing to do that, it is highly unlikely that I would make a profit if I decided to sell it.

why buy a 2nd if you've already got one?

Just because I have a pair of pants, doesn’t mean they are the only ones I own. As said, I’m technically now unemployed, so have spare time to tinker and there is nothing left to do with my other Trophy or my other cars.

So I am going to enjoy myself spending time getting this Trophy to a standard I am happy with and then either keep it in my collection or sell it to another good home at ideally a break even number.

I’m fortunate that I don’t need the money, I don’t need to make a profit, I’m just going to enjoy spending time getting it to how I would like it before making a decision if I let it go to another good home.

Brian is an absolutely top bloke, he’s happy, and I’m happy I have something to play with whilst I get my next business off the ground.

Sounds like you've got a nice little project to keep you busy and it will be very well looked after.

Best of luck with it and your going to enjoy it even if you do sell it on again.
