What are you boys actually doing with these things that you can’t do with the ones you already have on the car. If I’m right you’ve spent about £600 on a pair that are different colours and you are taking apart anyway. Wouldn’t it have been easier to send the originals to Rik ? I bet this guy in France can’t believe his luck .......or am I missing something

I was of the same thoughts. Although i understand why you are buying them...
Ive just had mine RP,d with DLC shafts so they shouldnt need redoing anytime soon.. So ill not be storing any more parts, ive got enough "stuff" in my garage already.....

There are only a limited number of these left. No more will ever be made for us as the value of the Clio will never be high enough to justify Sachs or anyone else reproducing them. The original shocks will have a limited life even if they are refurbished regularly, never mind any damage caused by a pothole or accident (anyone remember Triggers broom?!)

I’d been looking around for a spare pair and it was doubtful that some I saw could ever have been rescued. I’m aware Cornering Force has a set which are fully refurbished but they are asking £850 so £600 for a new pair is a very good deal.

Think of it this way; if the original shocks failed or were beyond repair, what would I have in my garage? I’d be left with essentially a 182 Cup if I could not source a new pair. Having a spare pair preserves the Trophy and it’s value. I don’t fancy the chances of finding these in 10 years time. If you need a pair in 10 years time they will cost a lot more than £600.

I understand not everyone will be in a position where they can purchase a pair but anyone in a position to do so probably will. There were 33 pairs when I found them and I’d bet they’ve got less than 20 left.

For me the purchase is all about peace of mind not having to worry about what makes the Trophy special.

Sounds good in theory but you guys must be doing all right if you can drop £600 for a 'just in case'.

I'll have a bill for about a grand this weekend and that's not the dampers or cambelt!

I wouldnt worry about a missmatch in colour, once fitted you will never see the two next to each other so no one would notice.

I guess if you are buying them just in case you break your originals or something catastrophic happens to them fair enough.
It’s a wonder this company haven’t cottoned on to the sudden influx of orders and put their prices up based on the demand !

There was a 20% discount available for a group buy but none of us wanted to wait!!

I had my set delivered today. Had to wait 2 weeks because of the severe weather just outside Paris lol.
They were packaged pretty decently and came via UPS.
Here is a few pics.

I’m actually warming to this, I don’t really need any, I’ve done about 500 miles in my ownership of my Trophy (2 yrs ish) but I do like OE bling. I probably need a push on these though. So what are the thoughts, £600 now prob a bit of profit in years to come when they have all gone ?

Right. So I’m not 100% sure. Is there two options when you order these or just the one? And what’s the actual link if there’s still any left?

There’s 2 options to choose from. One states the fitment is for Clio 2 RS....

This one...

http://www.optimiz-access.fr/amortisseurs-avants-sachs-trophy-entraxe-60mm-clio-2-rs.html

The other states they’re for Twingo 2 RS..

This one...

They’re the same part from what we believe. You can order either and you’ll receive the same part. They’re most likely advertised that way to confirm the fitment for each particular vehicle. Even though they’re the same and fit both.
