Anything that is more "Fun" than a Trophy?

My best mate has a 06 Elise 111S sitting on Nitron suspension and AD08R with which I've been lucky to take on track days and use on extended loans when I fly back to Aus for a visit. They are an amazing car but definitely on the more extreme end as a road car. On the open road it is fantastic, on a busy city road you spend a lot of time being nervous about other drivers as you sit below their window line.

Yeah I think anything outside being used as a weekend,quick blast sort of car might not be ideal for everyday use.

Most people want that feeling that an Elise provides but they also want some semblance of ease of use and a bit of comfort etc.

Struggle now to get my fat belly out of one now Francis - I'd be rolling on the tarmac on my hands and knees ( Not a good look ).

One of the most scary cars I’ve driven is a Mapped VX220 Turbo in the dark and pissing it down - The lights are poor and the wiper are shit and all the car wanted to do was throw me of the road - I nearly ended up in my local KFC once and I don’t mean the drive through.

There really are some great cars that drive so differently which I’ve been lucky to drive really hard over the years - Cars really are amazing things and even though I’ve now grown up they still put a smile on your face.

1985 911 Turbo ( very scary ) 1986 BMW M5 ( No grip in the rain again on the MTX tyres ) Subaru P1 ( did make you feel like it wanted to under steer compared to a Standard Turbo or RB5) Sierra 3dr Cosworth / 190E Cosworth - Brooklands Capri Turbo Technics - 928s4 manual - 80s/90s stuff was the bst time in my view due to less driver aids and not as many bollards.

Today my friend came to see me who was a really good car trader but now deals in watches ( Even Tom Hartley Senior said the same words to his son Carl when we bumped into him at the Goodwood auctions a few years back ) however he has a like new 2003 Merc SL500 14k in Bright Red (Number Plate PWY 1 ) which I got washed off for him today - you don’t have to spend a fortune sometimes to get stunning car that people appreciate.

You've probably driven more cars in a few weeks than I've driven my whole life Nick

I have a hankering for a nice R129 SL500 in something like Ruby/Almandine Red on AMG Monoblocks.

Lovely cars - My Dad had a brand new 90/H in Red when they first came out - I was only asking what happen to a friends Silver Arrow SL500 that he bought new yesterday to be told he Sold it for 20k.

Look at some of these price Francis from the EVO 135 Edition in 2009 - I'd bet you would buy that Mini @£12995 now

Funny you say that, I had the Exige v6cup and although fun it was a bit I compromised to be fun for long..

I ditched it and went for an evora GT. Hand on heart,I’ve had some truly great cars over the years (including 3x delta integrate evo/2!) this evora is one of the best things. I absolutely love it and I’m 2 years in to ownership now which is a big deal for me!!
