I don't want one anyways

I take it the water is getting in through the bit in the middle of the dial where it slides over the adjuster?
There's a rubber seal under mine which the dial rotates on, I would have thought it would be ample enough to keep water out, also, the grub screw threads are sealed with loctite which should seal it. I guess if the standard dials have been depinned then there will be a gaping hole straight through the dial which would obviously let water in but what if they're new dials without the pinning hole?

Would it be possible to engineer an adjuster that is sealed at the top and larger - then tapered so dirt and water would run off?

It's not water ingress into the damper that's the problem here. As you point out that is sealed by the o ring. But grit and corrosion on the springs and detent balls that control the damper ( Clicks ) of adjustment that is the killer.

I can engineer anything John but it's not OEM. The cover works well so no need to change it.

yeah the cover looks very good.

Plus the cost of a engineered solution would cost way more than the £170 BG charge for a new adjuster and thats not really the point of my service .. I have made a Titanium solution on adjusters but again the cost would be way more than most owners would be interested in paying..

I just need to pull my finger out and get the sachs fitted to the car, yet to drive a trophy as it should - kudos as always for enabling more trophy owners to refit and enjoy sachs dampers.

@BenG If you want a set send an envelope. I just targeted the most active members that comment on my thread.

Cheers Rik, I'm only messing mate, that's fair enough.

If you would be kind enough to service mine in the spring and stick some on then that would be ok I guess.

Mine were last done by BG in January 2009 and they're still performing well, however, they are crying out for the full RP treatment. I want those sweet looking DLC shafts.

Get a set now and use them and hopefully the service will go even more smoothly .. I will reserve some DLC for you ..

Spot on! Please do. I'll be looking to send them your way towards the end of March if your time allows for it. Don't worry about your other marriage, your marriage to the Trophy commmunity is far more rewarding, surely.

I think WW2017 needs to feature an awards ceremony on the Saturday evening. Full black tie optional.

Rik - nominated for best 'newcomer' ;)

Envelope is in the post if there are any left.
