Rang about for 2 weeks trying to find the best price for a service, got quoted anywhere between £160 and £224.
£160 was from local garages minus the oil and air filter.
£224 was from all Reno dealers, even whan i told them i had the oil and had just done the air filter they still quoted £176.
Anyway, got a mate who has been a mechanic for 18 years, he used to work at a pug specialist garage and now has his own place, i have taken quite a few cars to him and he has always been very good. Asked him how much for a service telling him i had fitted the filter myself, (K&N), and had the oil already, (Silkone 5-40), he said £50, i said what about all the checks and parts, he said thats included.
When i went to pick the car up all was spot on, he said he couldnt believe the pollen filter was £13, he also showed me the old pollen filter and i have to say it was virtually spotless. He also removed the K&N and cleaned it.
So £50 v at least £160, im well happy.
I also asked him how much he would charge for my cam and aux belt done, he said £150 labour.
I can get the parts for approx £160 so £310 doesnt sound too bad.
