Now I have finished my restore of 271 and just keeping it in storage decided to put up for sale. Other projects/ life keeping me from using it so best passing on to someone else.
When sold will get Andy Cochrane to do belts dephaser new water pump change for new owner and will come...
Well Car has been moved into storage again.
This time with the guys restoring my rally mini.
Now they have a nice big paint booth etc so …….one thing led to another and a discussion around tidying up the nicks and scratches of 20 years led to the following.

A quick (Happy) new year question please
Keep Trophy paintwork with as much original patina as possible and leave as is
Or
Spend a grand on tweaking out a few nicks / scratches in outer layer paintwork
Love to hear people’s thoughts on whether a good thing to do or better leave...
Another little task for 271 I didn’t know we could do but great result.
Changed the wipers and noticed there was some scuff marks on the rear glass.
Bit of YouTube research and a quick purchase of the following kit. ( Also used on my daughter’s Mini which had more noticeable scuffs too.)

Just got it out of storage at my mates and looking good even with the patina of 17 years use
There was a set of spares being ordered up and made by one of the members and a lot of people bought them. OMP will remake with enough orders
Plus I have all “my precious” suspension spares in one...
Hi they were the Cup springs apparently speaking g to Andy which I believe were pretty much the same as the Trophy ones.
Will need to look for rings when next at the garage.
Had the front springs from the relatively recent special order organised on the forum.
Back to Trophy and she has been to Andy Cochrane’s for a once over and MOT.
Less than a thousand miles in about 15 months so not really getting any use.
Good thing is we have bern tracking down the last missing bits to finish the build
So complete springs and shocks set - tick .

Actually didn’t really get it out over the summer but currently back with Andrew Crichton for MOT and check over.
But she is looking good .
